Surgeon Testimonial

Brian Lane, M.D., F.AC.S.
Dr. Lane and his physician's assistant Amy are the best. I couldn't ask for two more qualified people. Dr. Lane takes time to answer all of my questions, and he came to see me twice when I was recovering in the hospital. He is knowledgable about the latest WLS information. He is interested in long-term studies of patients, which is wonderful. I recommend him without hesitation. I'm so fortunate to live in Bowling Green two miles from the Center for Weight Loss Sugery!

Hey everyone,

I just getting back into the swing of the school year.  One more year and I'll be a doctor of philosophy!  Crazy.  Anyway, I am at 182 pounds.  I've been losing 5-7 pounds a month, which is fine.  I don't diet like I should, but I never go crazy either.  It's a good balance.  And I still lose, so I'm happy- I know I can live like this long term.

I haven't been walking, due to a couple reasons, but no more excuses.  Gotta get back up and out there before it gets cold.

And I discovered the mini-sub at Subway!  It's a four-inch sub.  So cute and the perfect size.  Don't have to take any leftovers home.  That made me excited.

I thought about some goals, and I think my long-term goal will be for January 1st... I would like to weigh 160 by the new year.  That's 22 pounds.  Totally doable (if I get my butt in gear.)   My short term goal will be to excersize every week.

Hope

I'm going to do all the things at the resort- watersports, contests, dancing, swimming, you name it.  I don't have a perfect body, but it is a good one, way better than it was, so I'm not going to worry!  Vacations are about fun and good memories, not fashion shows.  I'll be sure to post pictures.

These boots are made for walking....

So at my 3 month post-op visit, Dr. Lane emphasized the role of excersize in weight loss surgery success.  I have not been exercising at all so far.  So I took his advice (I mean, I didn't go through all of this to blow it) and now I am walking in the nature preserve right across the street.  He said to try for 150 minuntes a week.  I read an article that said try to go for 2 miles at a time, just walking.  So I'll try to do both of those.  Today I walked 1.85 miles!

These are the good things about walking:
1)  I listen to my music on my iPod
2)  It's nice to be outdoors
3)  I get to see animals (lots of bunnies, and the other day a deer and two fawns!  Soo cute.)
4)  I know I'm continuing to shed those pounds.

Bad things:
1)  When it is hot and humid
2)  That's about it.....

So I will try and keep on track, and maybe I should think of some rewards for myself.  Like something each week if I get to 150 minutes.  We'll see!

I'm at 192.5 pounds.  Can't weight for the 80's!
