    Tuesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. Aug 15, 2 days post op...

Well, I'm still at the Lucerna Hotel in TJ.  Yesterday, I did a great job all day eating chicken broth, jello, and water.  No hunger, just tired.  
But then, late last night (when my hunger demons set in), I ordered a quesadilla from room service.  I just had to have the chewing and taste!  So, I chewed up and spit out the food!!  It looked gross!!  I can't believe I did that!!  Mad at myself....  I better not ruin this!!
Today, I don't feel hungry at all!! it's already 3:30pm..  I need to force myself to sip chicken broth.  YAY!!  I hope and pray that the hunger demons (in my head only) don't come!!  
The swelling on my upper abs, especially where port is, has dropped greatly!! Yay!  My feet are still retaining fluid from the IV.  Reminds me of when I was pregnant! LOL!!
The surgical inscisions are barely noticable!!
I burp a lot now, especially after drinking something... normal.
Having "issues" with hotel!  They say I'm to check out today, although Rene at OCC KNEW my flight wasn't till tom!!  Waiting in my room for a call from someone!! Makes me mad when I could be walking and shopping!!
Not thrilled about this glitch!!  Update later!
I have a lot of pictures, and I'll post them in a more detailed online journal as soon as I have the time.

UPDATE:  Rene at OCC fixed the room issue...  
I want to walk to the Zona del Rio mall 2 blocks away, but since I'm alone (DH left tuesday), I'm a little nervous to go alone.... And now I'm getting lazy and tired... And hungry... just a little bit.... need more broth... Tomorrow I can start non-clear liquids according to the nutritionist (because my BMI was already on the lower side to start with)...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! I finally got to eat, er, rather drink sunthin!!!  Chicken broth has never tasted soooo good!!   It's 7 am on the 14th.... Still in Hospital room.....  
Can't wait to get to hotel!!  As much as I love my DH and kids (and it's A LOT!!), I'm looking forward to a couple of days free!!

I've been toting 5 kids all over the world (4 different countries!!) for summer vacation, and I'm a bit pooped!!!!!!!!!

Now, it's all about me for 2 more days!!!!!!

August 13, 2007... The first day of the rest of my...

AND FOR NOTHING!! Ortiz's staff was completely professional and efficient and so very kind!! We've had quite a few laughs here too!! LOL
I'm currently writing you from my hospital bed. They have wifi and a flatscreen TV with sattellite in each of its private room!!
The only discomfort is UPPER ABS (LIKE AFTER A GOOD WORKOUT or AFTER YOU'VE BEEN SICK WITH A COUGH FOR A WHILE AND THOSE MUSCLES ARE SORE) and where my port was placed. It's still swollen there, but I've been assured it will go down soon. I can feel the outline of the port.. Docs told me that since my BMI was on the low side, my port might stand out more. HE SAID IN 6 MONTHS THEY WILL MOVE IT `FOR FREE `IF ITS AN ISSSUE!!
Earlier this evening, I woke up from a nap with cottonmouth..... So without thinking, I took a couple of big gulps from my melted ice. OUCH! Felt pain similar to having a huge glob of peanutbutter stuck there!!! Walked around quite a bit after. That helps. I guess that's a common early side effect of band. There's also a cute little gizmo that you inhale deeply into 10 x's and that helps move around the air in ur lungs. Watever it is, it really helps! (bring GAS EX strips with you! A total must!!)
A couple of the patients had issues with throwing up afterwards.... Poor dears..... But they still trooped a long as the 4 of us walked around the clinic dragging along our IV poles in our hospital gowns and paper underwear!! SEXY!! HAHAHA!
BTW, there was NO CATHATER needed or used, nor were any of us intubated for the general!!!! Those wew 2 things I was pretty nervous about.....
Well, I was just given a pill to help me sleep and it's kicken in!!! I hope everything I've said makes sense!! I've taken tons of fotos, so as soon a i get a journal started, I'll upload those.....

 OMG! I can't believe it's almost time!!!!  The pre-op diet sucks!!  I'M STARVING!!  AND IN A BAD MOOD!!  I'm not following it 100%!!!!  But I have lost some weight....  The worst is my night time late snacking!!  Yhe hunger pangs are sooo painful!!  Lap Band  had BETTER fix THAT!!  More posts to come.... ciao

8 days till surgery!!

Had a wonderful time living in a beachfront house in El Salvador for a week!!  Tried surfing, but the waves were too rough!!  All bruised up!! lol...  Found some pretty cool shells tho!! The kids had a blast and DH and I found some desperately needed alone time!!

Back in Honduras now.  Flying to California tomorrow!! 
On 7th I'll start my pre surgery diet.  Then a week later.... THE BIG DAY!!  I fly to San Diego on 13th... only an hour flight!!  Not bad!

I've been trying to read as much as possible about the LB.  The pros and the cons.  I really hope it works for me!!  So nervous about wasting so much $$ (ins is a no pay!)..... 
Anyone out there know much about LB failure rates? Or why Sharon Osborne is removing hers? Etc.....
