On yesterday April 28th it was offical I am now a gastric bypass patient.   After years of telling people I would lose it on my own and being afraid of having surgery, I did it.  Years of diet and excerise to only lose 20 lbs then stall is very dishearting.  So if I was going to do this after being talked in to checking it out.  I was going to go to the best in Houston.  Luckily my insurance covered him.  Who you ask?  Big Medicines own Garth Davis, MD.  He took good care of me and did such a good job with prep, education and surgery.  Not to mention his office has what seems to be awsome after surgery support and care.  My surgery went better then expected.  I'm at home the next day at 3pm and surgery was completed at Noon the day before.  Minimal pain and so far I am happy with the decision, but I guess time will tell.  My weight at my first office visit in November of 2009 was 523 and before surgery I was at 462.9, thats 60 lbs.
