Surgeon Testimonial

Christine Gupta, M.D.
I had an uneventful surgery and minimal complications.

Aftercare is good. Dr. Gupta follows a lot of vitamin and mineral levels at least annually and takes action when necessary.

Hi Karen Thank you for the comment. It's nice to hear those things from someone that has gone threw what I'm about to go threw. Congratulations on your success. You look wonderful. I guess I;ll meet you on the losers side soon.

My Journey Through Blogging

June 2005

Well, I have to go back to work tomorrow. I also have my 18 month checkup with the bariatric surgeon tomorrow and the plastic surgeon on Tuesday. I'm holding at around 156-158 lbs, depending on how much fiber I'm getting.

Being home has made food too accessible, so in that respect, going back to work will be better for me. Mentally, though, I could use a few more weeks off. I have been eating a lot of "junk" that I wasn't eating before. Ice cream (actually frozen yogurt) is especially appealing. Two support groups next week should help.

I bought some clothes two weeks ago and they were sizes 10 and 12, despite the residual belly swelling. I even bought some size 8 pants in a brand that runs big. The top of me is still around 14 or Large, so it makes some things hard to buy. I also took clothes to the alteration shop this week. They were only two months old and I thought it would be worth the expense to take them in - I didn't really think the LBL would make that big a difference in size when I bought them.

I was released to work out at the end of two weeks post-PS. (Plastic surgeon is very impressed with my recovery.) We started slowly and I was amazed at how much strength I had lost during the two weeks away. I also have tendonitis in my shoulder per the Orthopod. Who would have thunk this MO couch potato could get a sports injury! The ortho doc that I saw was the one that fixed my broken shoulder three years ago and he was amazed at my transformation.
