Surgeon Testimonial

Stanley Hoehn, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Hello, rnI was excited when I met Dr. Hoehn. He was so reasuring and made me feel good about my desicion to have the surgery. He has been open and honest about the whole procedure and about everything that will go on after the surgery. He never held anything back. He came to me right before the surgery to make sure that it was still what I wanted and made me feel at peace about going into the surgery. His bedside manner was fabulous pre & post-op. rnrnOn a scale of 1 to 10 I would give him and his staff an 11!!rnrnI would recommend the program that he offers to anyone in the world.rn

Wedding update
on August 13, 2008 1:58 pm
Well, it is getting closer to the wedding.  It is going to be Oct 12th, 2008 and I would love to see all my biggest supporters there.  If you would like to come just RSVP at www.unionofjnj.com.

Wedding planning is a constant day to day thing.  It has been stressful and I have put on a couple of pounds because of all the bad eating that you tend to do with the wedding planning.  All that cake tasting and food tasting was driving me crazy and now that it is over I have gotten back on track with all the protein.  It hasn't been easy but I am trying.

I hope to see you at the wedding.

Living LIFE!!!
on May 22, 2008 12:13 pm
Hey,

Thought that I would let everyone know that I am now ENGAGED!!  Yes, it is true.  I am getting married.  I am very excited.  I would not be where I am today if I hadn't have had the band.  I wouldn't have gone onto eHarmony.com and met someone wonderful.  I wouldn't have even been dateing.  I am so happy, thrilled and excited all at once.

My future hubby to be is also a weight loss patient.  He had the gastric bypass in April of 2006.  Todate he has lost 270 lbs.  Yes, 270!!!  I am so proud of you (Cheeze).

Together we are working on the weightloss together and a healthier way to live.  We support eachother by going to support groups and keeping in mind that we both are different with the same needs.

The wedding is on Oct 12, 2008 and I am putting out an invitation to all my weightloss support friends.  Please visit our website www.unionofjnj.com .  Please come and celebrate with us.  You will find all the info you need.  Directions, RSVP and more info on how we met.

I would love to see you all there and to share in this stepping stone in my journey.  It would mean a great deal to me.

Thank you to all for the support.
Jeanette

1 yr Bandiversry
on March 4, 2008 3:46 pm
Hey Everyone!!!   Sorry that I haven't posted in a while.  Been really super busy.  My little sister had a baby and she lives with me so I have been busy helping her with my niece.

Well, I am now officially 1 yr post op.  I went in for my 1 yr check up and everything is fine.  I am now down 110lbs!!!!

I am now at 215lbs.  To just think that 1 yr ago I was at 325lbs.  The lapband was worth getting and now I am happier and life is going a little better.  I am at the meetings every month.  I wish I could see more of you there.

They are going to start one in the Northland so I am going to go to those as well.  I hope some of you will start to attend.  I would really like to see more patients that have had it done and are further out.

I will try to update again soon.

8 Months Post-Op
on October 24, 2007 3:29 pm
Hello, Everyone.....I just went for a check up on 10-22-07 and got another fill.  I now have 2.5 cc in my band.  I am now down to 232lbs.   I now have only 7 bls to go to get to the 100lbs mark.  I am just so excited and can't believe that I am wearing a size 18 again.

The last time I was a size 18 was in High School and I just got done going to my 10 yr reunion a month ago.  It was great and I looked FABULOUS!!!

I feel great most days.  The only thing I have holding me back is my arthritis that is acting up like crazy and I hope to really get it under control.  I already need to have both knees replaced or the cysts removed at least.  They are pretty big and hindering my walking and riding my bicycle that I bought a few months ago.

Also, My younger sister just had her baby on Oct 14th and that was a great experience.  I am now an Auntie for the 1st time.  I was feeling great and glad that I am going to be able to enjoy her and play with her with all my new energy.

Hope everyone else is doing well in there journey.

What is so great is that I am going to be weighting less now than I did back then.

Well, I am off to get more protein in and go to bed.

My Story

I am 28 yrs old.  I have been battleing my weight all my life.  I was heavy growing up even tho I did play sports.  I am an emotional eater and it was with any emotion.  I had wonderful friends growing up who never made fun of me and were always trying to help me lose the weight.

I have tried many diets and failed each one.  I would find that I would lose a few, no more than 10lbs, and then gain back 25lbs or better.   I had finally started having problems with my joints when I was about 21 and found out that I had Rhumitoid Arthritis.  I was devestated.  I have been fighting the pain and trying different pain medications.  Then with each new medication I was gaining more weight and not able to get it off.

Finally, 3 years ago, several people I worked with were having gastric bypass surgery and losing lots of weight.  I started to look into it and with all the effects on the body I lost interest in it.  In the back of my mind I knew that there had to be something else but without all the dangers.

I was up late one night and saw an infomercial about the lap band and immediatly started doing research.  It took me 2 years to find Dr. Hoehn and his program.

I then went to one of his seminars and knew right away that his program was going to save my life.

I was right.  I just had my surgery on Feb. 13, 2007.
