I thought that Dr. S. was a very confident surgeon. I respect him for the compassion and time that he and Pat his NP spent with me. They really make sure you are making an educated decision. I would reccomend them to anyone considering having this surgery.

Proud to be a "LOSER"
"nothing tastes as good as it feels to be thin...."

2 Weeks Post-OP
Today I am at my 2 week mark and I have lost 17lbs.  I am ready to go back to work and starting to go crzy.  I have been pretty inventive with the pureed diet and plan on introducing new pureed foods with a little more flavor.  My goal is to loose 20 lbs by the time I go back to work on Tues 9/11.
9/10/07- Dr. S. told me that I am not ready to go back to work yet due to dehydration problems.  I swear I drink, drink, drink and drink...at least it feels that way.

9/12/2007 Today, I went to see my parents.  They live about an hour from me.  They were pleasantly surprised to see me looking sooooooo good.  They have been coming over the past couple of weeks while my husband has been at work helping with the housework and just kind of keeping me company and they said that they can notice a difference from when they saw me on Thursday til today.  I am ecstatic that it is that noticeable to people.  it makes me feel real good to get that kind of response from people who have been telling me all my life that ..."Jen you are such a gorgeous girl BUT you really need to lose some weight."  So it felt awesome to get some praise.       Tomorrow (9/13/07) is my 3 weeks post-op milestone and so far, I have lost 21 pounds and have gained a new sense of confidence.  I hope I haven't hit a plateau in my losing.  That's okay...I will keep chugging along.

Ok, hula_grl I just got to make a comment...you haven't met me on here before but my name is Kellie and I am pre-op. My mom use to tell me all the time, you'd be so pretty if you'd just lose weight so I feel your pain!

But I want to tell you I looked at your picture on one of the message boards where you replied and I thought, "this girl is beautiful I have got to look at her profile"..... no I am not gay...hehe Happily married thank you very much...hehe Anway, I am not commenting because of what you wrote above but I am commenting because as a big person who has been told the same thing all my life I think it's important to tell people they are beautiful...especially those with low self esteem or those people who are heavy but still go out of their way to put a good face forward and show the world that being big does not mean being ugly and you are prove of that. I wish you much success on your weight loss but I hope that you will look in that mirror everyday and tell yourself, "you are beautiful" because you truly are!

God Bless!

Kellie

Hi Jen, I finally found your page (through Dr. S's forum page). I know we e-mail back and forth, but it was nice to find you. I don't have any information loaded on mine yet, but I'll let you know.

I went to GBMC support group tonight and will tell you about that in an e-mail.

Talk to you soon.

Terri
