My name is Shelley and I have been overweight my whole life.  At an early age everyone would just say that I was 'big boned'.  What the heck is 'big boned'?  LOL  Now at age 49 I am obese.  I have gone through all the tests in Windsor, and I am waiting to meet with the surgeon (Dr. Penner) in Toronto on July 13th (good gosh, it's Friday the 13th!  yikes).  It has been almost two years that I have been on this journey and I very anxious to get my new life started.  I look at the before and after pictures and I can't wait for that to be me.  I enjoy reading everyone's posts and have found them very helpful.  I hope that when I meet with the surgeon that my surgery follows within a few weeks (wishful thinking?).  Wish me luck.  TTYL.

My Story

I have been overweight my whole life and now is my time to be thin and more importantly  healthy.  I have tried every diet and did good at a lot of them. However, I kept putting the weight back on.  I am so excited to have this surgery (which I am hoping to have in April or May).  I know that in the first 6 months you loose without trying and then after that and forever is up to me.  I am confident that I can do it this time.  I love this website and all the support and tips you all have given each other.  It really motivates me.  Thanks to all of you.  Wish me luck!
