The staff at Baptist is just outstanding. You really cannot ask for better people to be on your side.rn

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I was a over eater. Everything to excess. Emotional eating wasn't really a problem, but when I did eat I would eat large portions.

hello all!!!
on September 8, 2008 11:08 am
I am so sorry it has been a while since I have posted.
I have lost currently to date
117 pounds total.
That is 35 pounds since July 14th and over 100 since my journey last year.

I am doing much more by myself now, and am going out with out my wheelchair.  I shop at Wilmar alone now, and I am driving to the gym at least three to four days a week.

I had the great honor to meet Stacy from OH yesterday with her husband at our local Cracker Barrel.  We had a fantastic visit and I cannot wait to do it again soon!!!!

God bless you all for keeping in touch with me and I am so sorry I have been behind in keeping in touch.

I always said I never wanted to be one of those people that as soon as they lose the weight they never come back... because I haven't even really begun to lose enough yet.

So, I will do my best to keep you all up to date!!!

God bless you all,
Tina

My Story

UPDATE 2008: On January 22, 208 I will have completed 4 months of my Medically Supervised Diet required by Medicare.
I am having the Lap-Band Surgery because the Dr. that takes my insurance at the hospital I have chosen only does Lap-Band.  It is not worth me going to a different hospital because I feel as though God has placed me in these people's hands.
I chose Baptist Hospital with Dr. Charles Morton III, M.D.
I have had my Psych. Evaluation and passed it.
I have had my Thyroid Panel Done.
UPDATE 2007: On January 28,2007 I was granted my disability via a judge in a hearing. I have recieved the papers I need to get my insurance but am waiting until I get my cards to go to the doctor.  I am living on my own, caring for myself with help from my family since my X left without a word to be on his own. I say better for him. I am happier now than I have been in a long time.
UPDATE 2006: I was married for 8 years to a police officer. On January 1, 2006 he walked out. Said I was too much of a burden. Now, I have no medical insurance, and my application for disabilty has been pushed back further and further. I don't see any hope to go forward most days. For now, I just exist.
STARTING DATE: I have always been a heavier girl than most.
At high school age I was probably about 50-60 pounds over what was the norm, but it was by no means my highest weight. I worked for years, in home health until I got married and I stopped working in home health due to a back injury. I went to work for an optometrist and did that for several years, until the office was sold and I was expected to know more than I had ever been taught. I was made fun of and talked about and I just couldn't see continuing that kind of work enviroment.
