Been awway for awhile
Hi Everyone...sorry I've been MIA. Alot has been going on. In hopes of saving my uterus, I had a Uterine Fibroid Embolization procedure performed on 7/31...the success rate is supposed to be very good, but don't think that is the case from me. About 3 months after the surgery I got a really bad kidney infection. I go in on 11/20 to have a stent put in to help me completely empty the urine in my kidney. At this time they will then figure out what is going on with my kidney...either I have a blockage or my uterus is still so big that it is pushing on my kidney. If the uterus is the problem, then I will have to have a hysterectomy. Did I mention that I have PCOS...in the midst of all of this, I have moved into a new house and have inherited 2 beautiful twin daughters. So I've taken the good with the bad and I'm still around waiting to have surgery. Hope all is well with everyone...talk to you later.

My Story

Hi All...just wanted to tell you a little bit about me. I am 34 years young and weigh about 268 lbs. I have always been a big girl, weighing around 185 lbs during high school while playing basketball and volleyball. I had just learned to accept it. I had also learned to deal with the facial hair that I began to grow shortly after getting my period, my mom and several aunts had it, so I just learned how to 'hide' it. In Oct 1994, 13 days before my 21st birthday my sister was killed in a car accident....5 days after my 21st birthday my Grandmother died of cancer. By January 1995 I had gained so much weight, I didn't recognize myself in pictures. I've tried dieting, Weight Watcher's, diet pills, working out like a maniac...but I have never been able to get out of the 200's. I believe it was in 2003 that I finally diagnosed with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome)..it was all by accident. But after being diagnosed, I felt I had a reason as to why it had been so difficult to lose weight. It is my hope that having WLS will reverse alot of the symptoms I experience from PCOS (they are getting worse as I age) as well as help me be the best me I can be!!
