Hi Cheryl: I had real hot flashes and cold flashes during my first weeks after surgery. it is normal it seems to be like hormone imbalances causeing it. I now get so cold that I have to cuddle into a blanket to keep warm even in august. You are not going crazy or anything. I am now 6 weeks post op and I get real cold all the time. I have lost 51 lbs so far and that may have a lot to do with it. Just hang in there it will get better. if you get worried call your surgeon to be on the safe side. I'm looking for anyone who knows anything about Cheryl. She had her surgery the day before mine and we were communicating thru email. She had developed a small leak that did NOT require surgery, but she had to be fed protein thru her tube (also like mine) for another two weeks. I've emailed her several times and no response in the last 8 days. Even if you don't know anything about her condition, I'm sure posting to her surgery page and sending her your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated. But if anyone does know about her current condition, PLEASE email me and let me know. Thanks!

Cheryl-My best advice is try to be at peace with yourself. I'm 1 month post op, and I stressed myself out before surgery with the "what if's". I decided that I wasn't going to let my worry effect my life any more so when I was being wheeled into surgery, I was relaxed and at peace and everything went fine. This is the best thing that ever happened to me. You will be fine too. I will be thinking of you and keep us posted.-Jen

Cheryl - you asked for words of wisdom, so here goes. The best thing that I did was to get a private room - I highly recommend it if you can. Good luck to you. Have faith in god and your surgeon.
