Tuesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Almost ten months out
on June 24, 2008 5:58 am
I see my surgeon later today. On my scale I'm three pounds away from my surgeon's and my initial goal, and I'm no longer considered obese BMI-wise. I'm not sure where to go from here. I know I should just talk to him and he'll help me, but seriously, I'm already considering modifying my goal. I still love wearing 12s but now I can also wear some 10s and it feels so, so good. I want to keep going. I still don't have another goal weight but maybe I could just go by 5 lb increments, or by clothing size? I don't know what it's like any further down the scale from here. Last time I was this weight I was 12 and also a couple of inches shorter.

almost 7 months out!

Hey guys :) I've only lost 6 lb in the last month, but it's definitely been a learning experience. I've been snacking on far too many carbs and not getting off my ass enough, and I'm sure it's what contributed to the slow loss this month. But! I've lost, damn it, so that's the important part. I'm three pounds away from onederland and I'm psyched. I don't think I've been under 200 since middle school over ten years ago.

I can definitely see a lot of plastics in my future, particularly in the boobs and pannus because it is GROSS. If I get the balls up to do it I might take pictures of the horror :) I can't believe I've lost almost 140 lb!! OMG seriously!! I've lost an average size woman!

I joined a gym yesterday and met with a personal trainer today. I'm excited. This will be the best summer ever, I'm sure of it. I won't look gorgeous in a swimsuit, but I'll look a hell of a lot better than I did last year and the year before and the year before etc! And I'll be able to run around and sleep in the same building as others without fear of keeping them awake due to snoring! BYE BYE SLEEP APNEA!!

I just realized a year and two days ago I sent my application in to the Obesity Consult Center at Tufts Medical Center. WOW! I was around 340 and now I'm about 140 lb down! WTF!! Boggles my mind!

Guys, I need HELP with makeup! I've never, ever worn it and have no clue what colors to wear or how to wear it. I refuse to wear mascara, I hate it. The simpler the better. I'm thinking purple or green shades? HELP? C'mon, help me be a girl, girls!! :)

Officially lost 115lb all together, 100 lb since surgery :) I now weigh what I got down to in junior year of high school (like, 6 years ago?). Five year high school reunion is this summer/fall and I can't wait because I'll definitely look awesome for it!!

So close to onederland I can taste it!!

I always wished I could get the DS. Seriously. Before I even had the surgical consult I wanted to ask about it, but I just couldn't because it was never mentioned. I can't read the DS forum because I envy them and wish I could have had it done instead.

If I'm a "traitor" for saying this, then so be it, but it's what I really feel. I hate this DS/RNY animosity, because I feel for both sides.

My Story

I'm 21, and since I was eight I've been overweight. I remember several times in my life I would gain more than 40lb a year, but never did anything about it. When I was in high school I joined Weight Watchers and another weight loss program aimed for kids and lost 40 lb in around six months. At that point I was 225 lb, and that was the lowest I've been for a long time. Now I'm at a sickening 341 lb but I'm actively trying to lose the 35 lb I need to shed before surgery. Hopefully it will happen sometime this summer.
