Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Saw Dr. Le, my surgeon on 10/25/07 for pre-op appt in So. San Francisco.  He gave me the go-ahead for the surgery and I'm to lose additional weight to make the procedure go as smoothly as possible.  When I began my journey in April my weight was 248.  It is now 220 so I have made progress towards my goal of 130 pounds.  Only 90 pounds to go before I meet my goal in terms of weight.  I am taking a number of medications for hypertension and type II diabetes that I would like to discontinue or reduce as I reach my goal weight.  One thing I do will help the others as I become a healthier me.

Healing nicely
on December 24, 2007 8:12 am
Good morning and Merry Christmas to you all!!!!

I am doing well, following my meal plan and losing a little weight.  The band is slower than the gastric but that suits me fine

I walk every day, not far but consistantly.

I have no pain, nausea or vomiting to report.  I had another surgery the following week to remove a lesion.  I am healing from that.  The stitches will be removed Weds.

I still have the tape on my tummy where I was cut in 5 places.  An extra cut was due to my having scar tissue from previous surgeries the surgeon had to work around.

It's breakfast time so I will post more later.

Hugs and kisses to everyone,
Iris
