Hockey Sticks - Composite or Timber?

Dec 16, 2013

Composite hockey sticks usually are created from graphite or carbon-fiber. These materials are very light, but are also extremely costly. The benefit of a composite stick is that you can take a shot at a very high speed. The more speed at which you strike the puck with, the quicker it will go, and a higher probability of scoring. However, these composite sticks cost hundreds of dollars and as they are created from a single piece, a broken or damaged blade might need you to replace your complete Singapore field hockey stick.    Another downside of a composite stick is that many of them are not suitable for inline hockey. Many composite blades are good on the ice; they often wear down rapidly on inline hockey surfaces. Once the graphite shell of the blade is damaged, a foam core is revealed that will break down in no time. I've used many composite blades in one particular season of playing inline hockey on a cement surface.      Other alternative sticks are made from wood. Wooden sticks are as inexpensive as twenty dollars, but they are simpler to break and are also very heavy. I've broken up to 2 wooden hockey sticks in one single time! The financial cost is obviously bigger no matter whether you decide on a composite or wooden grays hockey sticks Singapore.    But do not panic, I've found an answer for my hockey stick miseries. I purchase a superior composite stick and change the blade! How is this accomplished? It's much simpler than you can think of. The 1st step is to saw the blade off of your composite stick. Then, tape up the sawed off end as though it were your handle. Next, connect your replacement blade (which ever type you like) for the old handle end of your stick. Many composite sticks have an end cap, which can be easily removed. Merely insert your brand-new blade with a few dabs of glue and heat it up till it sets. Leave your stick to dry for a couple hours and you've a whole new (and longer) hockey stick!    By doing this you will spend less and also need not spend the hard earned money on a fresh stick every month. As blades are quite affordable than getting entire sticks, you will have lots of supplemental money for that new helmet or jersey!
