SO FAR SO GOOD WITH DR.HOUSTON!!! HE TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN AND EXPLAIN THE DS AND WHY HE CHOSE TO DO THEM. HE REALLY SEEM TO BE INTERESTED IN WHY YOU(THE PATIENT)CAME TO THE DECISON TO HAVE THE DS. HE REALLY WANTS TO MAKE SURE THAT HE WILL BE DOING THE DS ON A PERSON WHO UNDERSTAND THE PROS AND CON OF THE SURGERY ITSELF. HE ALSO WANTS TO BE SURE THAT YOU(THE PATIENT) ARE NOT BEING LED INTO THIS SURGERY OR MISINFORMED. I AM REALLY HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE FOR SURGEON!!

My nurse from UHC called me this morning and gave me the great new!  The big day is scheduled for June 8th. I do my pre-op stuff on June 3rd! I am so excited. I did not think this day would come. Thanks to God it's here!!

Ok so today Dr. Houston called me! yes ME  we did not talk very long, but long enough for me to ask some questions. He seem very confident in his skills to do the DS!  I am very excited to move forward with him and his office.  Dr. Houston only requires me to see his Nutritionist!!!  If everything goes ok then I should be submitting my paperwork to  UHC on May 1st.

Change of heart...

Well I've been meaning to blog a few days ago, however I've been posting like crazy. Anyhoo I am going to change surgeons.  YES, CHANGING SURGEONS!!!!! I just did not feel like Dr. Maynard was/is a good fit for me.  So I will be hopefully using Dr. Houston in Nashville TN.  For one, he does all his DS's lap. So for me that's a huge plus.  I called his office on Tuesday and I spoke with Pam Davis the Bariatric Program Director, she was very nice. She had me to fax over all my paperwork and some other stuff. I haven't heard back from them, but I am going to remain hopeful. ALSO... If thing don't seem to pin out with Dr. Houston then I may have to use Dr. Maynard,  BUT I know God is going to work it out in my favor !!  Pam Davis stated that she and the workers there will do everything in their power to make this a smooth transition for me and the other girls(from GA) that will be probably using Dr. H. (I really hope they work with us)

THINGS LEFT FOR ME TO COMPLETE BEFORE SUBMITTING TO INSURANCE!!

1 MORE SUPERVISED PCP VISIT (this will be my 7th one, only to cover myself) --This is really all I have!!

I am also seeing the Physical Therapist  Dr. Maynard wanted me to do, BUT GUESS WHAT??? I FOUND THE SHIT TO BE REALLY REALLY HELPFUL.... WHO WOULDA  GUESSED!!           (so I'm planning to keep going, because it's helpful,this is just for me, this is not  a Dr. H requirement)  I'll update more as things fall in to place...

Surgical consult today

Today I met with Dr. Maynard today and it was bitter/sweet. As I previously stated, I have only 2 more supervised diet visits left before I can submit my paperwork. Now HERE IS ANOTHER DAMN ROAD BLOCK      Thanks to my surgeon's office.  Now ya'll know I stated on previously blog months that I've been trying to get Dr. Maynard in network with UHC since January 15, 2009 and Dr. Maynard knows this as well. This was stated by me and another UHC member at EVERY damn DS meeting. So why in the HELL does he wants us (UHC MEMBERS) to start his 90 day mandatory program effected 3/31/09. That shit is crazy!    Keep in mind I have attended 2 of his DS meeting (February and March) and also his ass is just getting into Uhc network, thanks to me and this other uhc member. So WHY is OUR admission into his program starting 3/31/09!!!  This makes me want to change surgeon's and result to my B (Dr. Spaw).  On top of all that Dr. Maynard wants us to see a physical therapist and his nutritionist once every month for the next 3 months!! Isn't that a B!t$h!!! So that's another damn bill or more freakin money to spend depending on how you chose to look at it.  And another thing WHY in the hell do I need to see a DAMN PHYSICAL THERAPIST ANYWAY, they are freakin crazy!!!1   I really like Dr. Maynard but this is a bit much. He answered all my questions and he explained everything in great detail.  He is really a sweetheart and seem to have my best interest over all. However the way he is treating us concerning his program sucks big time!!!  So now I am contemplating either going to Tennessee or jumping through Dr. Maynard's hoops!   (I REALLY DON'T KNOW AT THIS POINT!!)  When does this ends, It seem like the closer I get to having the surgery, the farther away it seems! This has to get easier, it just has to!!!   Please PRAY FOR ME!!   I hope to post again soon with some better news.

My Story

I AM A 30 YRS OLD FEMALE WHO HAS BEEN OVERWEIGHT MY WHOLE LIFE. I CAN REMEMBER BEEN HEAVIER THAN ALL MY FRIEND THROUGH SCHOOL.I THINK THAT'S THE REAL REASON I HATED SCHOOL.AND JUST LIKE EVERYONE ON OH,I'VE TRIED EVERY DIET OUT THERE.DIET AFTER DIET AND YES I WOULD LOOSE SOME WEIGHT BUT AS TIME PAST BY THE WEIGHT CAME BACK PLUS A FEW EXTRA,FOR GOOD MEASURES!   IT IS A NEVER ENDING OR WINNING BATTLE... AS THE WEIGHT PILES ON I LOOSE A LITTLE OF MORE SELF-ESTEEM EVERY TIME. I'M SO TIRED OF THE CYCLE OF DIETING, LOOSE WEIGHT AND GAIN MORE BACK... I WANT OUT OG THIS DAMN FAT SUIT.I KNOW IT'S A MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE OF THE FAT SUIT!
