Thoughts on seminar
on October 22, 2007 9:37 pm
Well, I went to the seminar today and hubby came along!  Yea! :)  I really liked how they presented the information and now am 100% sure that WLS is for me.  I'm pretty sure I want the Roux-en-Y, but haven't decided for sure yet.  My next step is contacting insurance and seeing my family doctor to start the 6 month supervised dieting.

Considering WLS

I am signed up and ready to attend the Bariatric Info Seminar at ThedaClark on Monday, October 22nd 2007.  If you are attending, drop me a line! :)

My Story

I am a 27 y/o SAHM of a beautiful 4 y/o daughter.  I am in the very beginning stages of considering WLS.  I have been very obese for all of my life, with it spiralling out of control after I got married and had a child.  I am currently at 340 lbs.   I am thankful that I don't have diabetes, but I can see that becoming an issue in the future if I don't get my weight under control.  I have difficulty breathing at times and have high blood pressure.  I have dieted with success in the past, but unfortunately I always gain the weight back plus some.  I would love to meet other people in the Fox Valley area that are either considering WLS or have had WLS.  I do not personally know anyone that has had the surgery and would love to hear your story.  It's hard being a stay-at-home mom because I don't get to socialize much.

I decided to make a list of things that I would like to do after I get to my goal weight (to be determined yet):

Walk up a flight of stairs w/o feeling like I am going to pass out.
Wear a tank top.
Ride a bike.
Buy a necklace or bracelet right off the rack w/o 'testing' it first.
Swinging on a swing.
Sitting in a theater seat w/o feeling my legs and butt crushed.
Shop in a regular clothing store (not for plus-sized).
Find cute shoes that fit comfortably (and not wide width).
Ride an amusement ride.
Wear a bathing suit w/o a wrap or robe.
Park car far from entrance w/o getting upset.
Wear seatbelt comfortably.
Wear shorts.
Actually get cold and need to wear coat in chillier months.
Not sweat profusely with just alittle walking.
