Surgeon Testimonial

Rex Scherer
Dr. Sherer is wonderful. He's very kind and takes time to answer any questions. My consult with him was one on one. He made sure I knew what I was getting into. It wasn't like a previous consult I had gone to where everyone was herded into a room. It was not very different than a regular doctor's visit. His staff is great especially Miles. Miles handles all the insurance paperwork. He's very good at his job and gives me the impression that he will not send anything in unless he's absolutely sure the person will be approved. I was approved the first time.

My Story

My name is Jaimie and I'm 22. I've been overweight since pre-school. I have also been teased and treated diferently because of it. I've missed out on oppurtunities that most people my age have had and I have very low self esteem. I avoid people because of my weight and I often feel like an outsider. I have been going back and forth on gastric bypass since I first heard about Carnie Wilson back when I was 17. I went to my first consult about 4 years ago but I decided to give up because the doc said my insurance was difficult. So instead I decided to diet on my own and I did lose 90 lbs. I also gained it back. When I realized I had gained all that I had lost, I really needed to do something. My mother found Dr Sherer for me. Oddly enough, my insurance wasn't difficult and I was approved on the first try. That just goes to show how much better of a doctor he is than the previous one. I really hope this surgery works out for me. I've been on countless diets over the years and I've exercised to the point that I was sick. I need to get past this stage of my life. I need to move on already. Life isn't a spectator sport and I'm very tired of sitting in the bleachers watching everyone else.
