Hi everyone,
My name is Sue and I live in the Thumb of Michigan...My surgery is this Monday Oct. 30th..only 2 more days!!  I have been on a 8 day PRE-surgery diet consisting of a kit I had to buy for $80.  I get 3 delicious shakes, 1 soup and 1 fruit drink a day.  on the 7th day, you get 7 wildberry drinks (thats it) and then nothing after midnight.  The shakes are GREAT...I got a combination of chocolate and chocolate MINT....the soup I got was Chicken Noodle (not so good) and the fruit drink is really fruity.  So I have done really well and not cheated at all....my surgery is at 11:30am Monday and I cant wait!!!!!!

Thanks for listening...God Bless.

1 YEAR UPDATE AND PROBABLY MY LAST
on November 11, 2007 4:20 pm
Hi everyone.
well its been 1 year and I have lost a total of 95 pounds....I am very proud of myself.  It has been a rough road especially the first 6 months.  After 5 scopes and a nasty ulcer, it is finally healed up and I am eating somewhat normal now.  Still dont get enough protein or fluids in but I am doing well.

I feel like I dont get on here near enough anymore so I probably wont be updating anymore.  No one writes me anymore...I guess we have all moved on with our lives.

I certainly hope everyone is doing well and I made lots of new friends.  God Bless you all!

8 months post op and doing better
on June 28, 2007 7:24 pm
Well after 3 "scopes" and medication to heal my ulcer, I am finally eating more and doing better....I am down 75 pounds now and have kind of "stalled" for the past 3 weeks with any weight loss.  They want me to have another scope done but I am not going to unless I have more problems...it just absolutly wipes me right out for a few days and I am on meds for it so what else will they be able to tell me??

5 months post op...

Well its been 5 months and I am still having problems...I cant get enough protein in and have a huge ulcer.  Have had 2 scopes done and need another one now.  I get very depressed even tho I have lost about 65 pounds. I am happy for that but I just feel very unhealthy...very fatigued.  I have tried all the proteins...whey, soy and even Rice!!  It all makes me sick to my stomach....I just keep praying....

I GOT SCOPED!!
on December 21, 2006 10:51 am
Well its done...got scoped yesterday.  Found out I have a small ulcer starting and I had a stricture also so they dilated it.  I just tried eating scrambled eggs and its sitting there like a rock....I can tell I am going to end up puking it up!!!!!!  I have to get to a store and find a protein I can take....I havent been able to tolerate ANY proteins and the dr said I HAVE to get some protein in to help heal that ulcer up.  So there goes even more money!!!!  I have spent so much in trying to find a protein I can take its crazy.....well its dont anyways...hopefully things will get better soon.
God Bless you all,
Sue

HAVING SCOPE DONE!!! YUCK!
on December 18, 2006 11:08 am
Well I am having a scope done in 2 days!!!!!!  They are looking for either a ulcer, a stricture or H.Pylori ( a stomach infection)...I personally think it is a stricture and I now cant WAIT to get this done.  I am sick of not having anything but fluids and I am now 7 weeks out!!  I should be able to eat solid foods by now but I cant.  So will everyone please say a prayer for me for Wednesday Dec. 20th????????  I appreciate it.

My Story

I am 48 years old and have 2 sons, 20 and 23.  My youngest goes to Michigan State University with a major in Finance.  He is a junior this year.  My oldest is 23 and had a horrible motorcycle accident 2 yrs ago and has a brain injury from it.  He is doing well though and is expected to start work rehabilitation soon so maybe he can get out on his own someday soon.  He did start driving again so that is a step forward.  I adore both my sons and they are what I live for!!!

I am divorced (4 yrs now) and havent dated anyone since then.  I guess I havent found anyone who was interested in a "fat old lady"...lol  but I am hoping to change that once I get healthier now.  I had a car accident in 1999 which left me with a back injury and I have pain EVERY SINGLE DAY from it.  I also have Fibromyalgia which anyone who has it knows how painful that it also....so I am looking forward to losing these excess pounds and hopefully be somewhat PAIN free.  I know it wont take it away completely but I will take any reduction I can get from the pain.   My left knee is now also pretty much bone on bone...cartilege is pretty much gone.  So this loss of weight will help that also!!

Well enough about me...if you would like to talk, drop me a line.  God Bless you all!
