Wow, time flies! It's now been 19 months since surgery, and not only does time fly but I've been doing my fair share too!
We got a call from Hubbies cousins in Holland that they were going to Florida for two weeks, before they even asked I told them I'd look into flights so we could come see them! We all laugh about it now, but I was excited to go.
We took a red-eye flight from hell out on a Friday night, changed planes in North Carolina, and then finally arrived in Orlando about 10:00AM.
We spent the day with the cousins first swaping stuff we'd brought each other then visiting at the home they'd rented. Then we all took off for Universal City Walk. What a fun afternoon. We walked all over watched the tryouts that were going on for American Gladiator, after that we went to Bubba Gumps for a late lunch. Not many choices for me, but we all decided to just get appetizers and share. Worked out great, I picked peel and eat shrimp, yummy! They all picked fried stuff and I had one bite of an onion ring and decided my shrimp tasted better.
We walked some more bought Hard Rock and NASCAR Cafe T-shirts for everyone, and then went home to nap. Hubby and I hadn't slept during the flight more than 30 minutes.
After an hour nap, we woke up and went to dinner at Chili's - hubby and I shared Steak fajitas - yummy!
Sunday was a short visit and breakfast with the cousins and then they left to go visit an aunt. We checked into a hotel and hubby rested, he was sick the entire trip, but such a trooper, didn't complain a bit.
That evening we drove an hour away to meet up with one of my best friends and her son - my Godson. We had such a great time at dinner, then it ended too soon and we we're driving back to our hotel.
Monday morning we left early for an all day tour of Kennedy Space Center, I really enjoyed that. I grew up in a house filled with NASA fans, so it was a great thing to see for me. We went on the cool "Space Shuttle Experience" it was wonderful.
That afternoon we did an airboat ride through the swamps and saw gators, turtles, and even a pair of bald eagles! Who knew they had bald eagles in Florida? Not me!
Tuesday was a mellow day, went to a silly timeshare thing, (they paid us cash to go!) That afternoon we walked around Downtown Disney and it started pouring rain, we decided to kill time before our flight and went to the movies there.
We had a nice quick 5 hour nonstop flight home.
We went back to work on Thursday and then Friday night after work we were once again off to the airport. This time was a trip that had been planned for months, we went to Tucson and took my Mother-in-law to see the kids/Grand kids.
Our flight took off an hour late. After we got our rental car we still had an hour drive to the kids house. We ended up driving through a snow storm, and made it there later than first expected (they called twice to check on us).
Busy fast weekend, loved getting to hold Allison and hear her laugh. Turns out I was the only one she'd laugh for or was it at? Boy oh boy did I crack her up. Austin had fun with his Great Grandmother who loved giving him attention.
We toured Tombstone on Sat. and took a great old fashion photo. Some shopping and then home for pizza. I decided to have some turkey and cheese before the pizza came so I wasn't hungry. I did eat one piece but skipped the crust.
Still weighing in around 177, sometimes up or down a few, but not much.
Eating can be hit or miss, mostly hit now a days, although grouchy pouchy likes to remind me who's in charge every so often. I still avoid sugar.
Life is good and I am happy, I don't need to loose more to enjoy life, I'm able to do anything I want now and I love it!
