Surgeon Testimonial

Brian B. Quebbemann, M.D., F.A.C.S.
I loved Dr Q as soon as I met him. He spent lots of time with us teaching us all about the surgeries. The best part about The New rogram is that they have a ZERO mortality rate, and that's the kind of Dr I wanted to do my surgery!rnrnThe New Program has a Two year follow up and everyone that works there are all wonderful to deal with.rnrnDr Q's surgical competence is why I decided he should be the one to do my surgery!rnrnTo be perfectly honest though, I haven't seen Dr Q since before he preformed my surgery. I've had follow-ups with others on his staff, but most of my appointments are on days when he's in surgery.rnrnHe does the talking before hand, and makes sure you pick the right surgery for you, then the rest of the staff handle it from there. I guess that why he's a surgeon!rnrnHe does attend the Lifestyle Management classes, but becasue of the time, I'm unable to go to them. rnrn

Went today and had blood drawn for my 2 year follow-up appointment. Can't believe it's coming so fast.

On a good day I'm down 200 pounds from where I began but most of the time I run between 195-197 lost. I weight 177 on average.

I'm wearing size 12 pants and anywhere from a M to XXL shirt depending on the cut.

Eating wise I still haven't venture to the land of sugar. I stick to my own rule and try to never go above 12 grams of sugar, but aim for no more than 8 most of the time. I can now take a few bites of bread or potatoes at the end of a meal. Still haven't had a sandwich, maybe a bite or two here or there. Rice does not agree with me, so I stay away. Nothing else bothers me that much anymore. I still stay away from things too high in fat since that's what I've dumped off of twice. Bacon is something I've yet to try, and have no desire too.

We're off to the River this weekend. I figure it'll keep my mind off of surgery coming up on Tuesday. I have pre-op stuff at the hospital early Monday morning, then plan to get the house cleaned and the fridge stocked.

Tuesday morning I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM, not too bad since the hospital is across the street and we're normally up that early.

Surgery (hysterectomy) is scheduled for tomorrow but due to insurance snafu's it may be postponed until next week sometime.

Hubbies company changed insurance on June 1st, but neglected to get all their paperwork in on time, it's caused the hold-up for the group ID #. The owner of hubbies company called to apologize and the insurance broker has been calling with daily reports. We should have it today or tomorrow.

Today it's due or die day. I've given them until 3 PM, if we don't have the number then I will cancel my 4 PM pre-op appointment at the hospital and the DR will reschedule surgery for next week.

I truly believe everything happens for a reason so I will not let this get to me. Hey the family will have me around to cook for Father's Day to say the least!

I did spend this past weekend stocking up the fridge and freezer and cleaning. Wow, do I have one clean house! Let's just hope I don't have to do it all again next weekend too!

Dr has told me no driving for 2 weeks at least and no lifting anything heavier than a book for at least 6 weeks! Hubby just told her "Oh no, I'm going to be so sick of my name after 6 weeks!" He laughed after that. He's a good guy and I won't have to worry about laundry or housework, he's better than me when it comes to cleaning.
