Surgeon Testimonial

Hazem Elariny, M.D.
My first impression was that he knew what he was doing.

The Office staff is very helpful and informative.

He was very helpful when my mom and I went into surgery, he told us what to expect.

He is a wonderful surgeon who has done a lot of surgeries.

I am a single mother of one son who is 17 years old. I have lived in Virginia all my life. I have two sisters, who lives in Herndon, VA. My older sister I was always jealous of growing up because she was the smart one. She is married and has 3 children. My younger sister isn't married yet. I am the middle Child. I had never liked being the middle. I live at home after the divorce. My parents are also divorced and my dad remarried and lives in South Carolina.

Money is so tight. It took me a almost a year to come up with the money.

My hobbies are surfing the net. I like going to the movies, and reading mysteries by James Patterson. I also like country music, like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Vince Gill and I like the group Lonestar and Alabama.

Happy 4th of July to everyone
on July 4, 2007 11:18 am
Today, I decided to way myself.  I am down to 174 after starting at 374.  That is a total of 200 pounds lost.  I have 19 more to get to my goal.  I am feeling wonderful.

I can do so much more.

I actually walk home from my office the other day and it was a 2.06 mile walk.  I felt great.

I have a Ipod that I listen to.

I am no longer obese, just overweight.  Woohoo!!!  It's says I wouldn't qualify for surgery now if I was just starting out.

It seems that my body wants to
on March 18, 2007 1:56 pm
stay at the weight of 183.  I had been there for a while.  I just weighed this morning and now I am 182.

I don't have any regrets of having this surgery, I just wish I had it sooner when I was younger.

I am able to jog if I want too.  I don't like all of the extra skin that I have so I don't know what I am going to do, since I am a single mom and it is expensive to get plastic surgery.

Yesterday, I was able to do the elipptical for 37 minutes.

on February 24, 2007 6:09 pm
for a long time.  I just tried it last night.  It would always hurt my knees in the past and I would get winded because of my asthma.

I just wanted to see if after losing 183 pounds if I could do it.

Well guess what!

I was able to and not get tired and have hurt knees.  It felt so good.

My Story

I also like to meet new people and I have been going to the Support group at the hospital where I had the surgery (Inova Fairfax Hospital where Dr. Elariny does the surgery.

I am an Administrative Specialist with the Government agency.

I was referred to you from My General Doctor, Dr. Patrick Correnty who is out of Virginia Hospital Center. I have been overweight for a long time. I have been on numerous weight loss like Optifast, Weight Watchers, and the pill diet. I have been looking into having weight loss surgery for over a year, but in the meantime I was still going to a support group at Fairfax Hospital to get ideas of what the surgery is like from the people who had the same kind of surgery that I was looking into having.

On November 15, 2005 I had the VBG with Sleeve at Fairfax Hospital and my surgeon was Dr. Hazem Elariny, Vienna. My weight was 374, and I am 5'5.

My goals that I want to accomplish with my surgery:

1)  Sit in a booth comfortably - Done

2)  Cross my legs - Done

3) Be able to breathe easier and not have to use inhaler - Done

4)  Get a bra at Victoria Secret - - Too Expensive so I probably will never get one.  - Done

5)  Get out of 5 x clothes - Done

6)  Do some kind of 5k walk - Done as of 9/16/06

7)  Fly to Mall of America or anywhere on a plane, without having to use the seat belt extender.  Done.
