Surgeon Testimonial

Paul E. Macik
I met with Dr. Macik for the first time October 4, 2006 at his office in Atlanta, GA. The office is small and Tiffany the assistant was very nice. I met with Dr. Macik for about 20 minutes total. He was reserved but professional and willing to answer any questions I had. rnrnHe asked me which WLS I was considering and I told him Lap Band. He told me to expect to lose 50% of the excess weight I have. I told him I expected 100% and that made him smile. rnrnHe told me he had never lost a patient due to complicatons with the Lap Band. Well, that's good news. :) He has done about 200 Lap Band surgeries to date. He said he would not use Flouro when doing my fills. rnrnI told him that if I could have the surgery tomorrow I would! rnrn12/19- I had my two week appointment today. My appointment time was 2 pm and I was called back at 3 pm! WTF? I do not like having MY time wasted. The appointment before this one was the same way- Appointment time at 2 pm and was called back at 2:45 pm. I suppose I won't be making anymore 2 pm appointments!

Hello, hello

I went to the mountains this weekend and had a super time.  The Blue Ridge Parkway of NC is spectacular!!  I plan to go back when the leaves are changing-- it will be a phenomenal trip.

I need to get back into the gym!!!  I plan to do only cardio to get back into it.  I think that will spark my weightloss to continue.

I am very proud that I have lost 54 pound and I am hoping to see a change in the scale this week as well.  I am now in a size 16 pants....I am totaly amazed!  I have  not been this size in 10 years.  I have 17 pounds to lose to get into onederland and I want to be there before July 1st.

My restriction is very good and I do not need a tweek at this time.  I will stick with my eating plan because I am doing very good with my eating.  I am a bit sad because my hair is coming out-- not in clumps, thank God...but more than I like.  I take my vitamins and Biotin to help hair... I hope it stops soon.

I had my thyroid biopsy done last Thursday...I hope it will come back ok.  I am sure it will, but you never know, that's why we have biopsies done.

I am traveling to Chicago next weekend on business.  I am VERY excited about the trip.  I will be meeting with various POS dealers that I interact with daily.  They have been calling my VP and Account Exectives requesting that I go!! That is quite a compliment.  It should be an interesting adventure.

May is a VERY busy month for me... the first weekend in Chicago, the next weekend is Mother's Day, the following weekend in Phoenix, the weekend after is Memorial Day and Kassi graduates from HS, the next weekend we are having a graduation party for Kassi, then we go camping June 8th!!!  Wow--- I will need a lot of energy to deal with all that, my regular life and school.  Give me strength!!

Love to all--
Susan

July 4th goal
on April 18, 2007 6:24 pm

I want to be in Onederland on July 4th!  AND weight 195.  That weight will put me at a bmi of 29.6 and only "slightly overweight" according to the BMI chart I accessed.  (I edited my goal) I need to lose 21 pounds to accomplish those goals.

11 weeks and counting.....

It will have been 17 years since I was below 200 pounds!  Oh my God! I can't believe I have been this fat for so long.... It's disgusting.  At least I am doing something about it now.... I hope I didn't ruin my body for years to come because of all the excess weight I carried.

Here's to my band! Cheers April 17, 2007

I am back from another fantastic trip to FL, this time to play with the girls.  Women friends from all over the US flew in to spend the weekend together.  It was quite a fun time.  We had 2 spectacular days by the pool and one very cold and rainy day watching movies.

I am officially down 54 pounds now.  I really can't believe it-- it has been so easy and not problematic at all.  It's so easy to eat as I have to that it makes me think "why couldn't I do this on my own before?"  I know why... I was always hungry.  Now, I feel great, I know when to stop eating and I'm not having any issues.

For me, the level of restriction I have is perfect.  I have loosened up some since my fill in February and I like where I am at right now.  I will think about getting another fill in late July or August.

It has started to happen-- men notice me.  I have not been asked out, which is fine with me, but it is nice to be noticed.  I was taking the train from the airport on Monday and an older man sat next to me.  He mumbled somthing inaudible... so I asked him what he said.  He repeated himelf, "I hope someone told you you were beautiful before leaving the house today."  Awww... how sweet.  It really made my day.

My exercise routine has fallen by the weighside since my promotion.  I think I'm going to lay off for a while at least until I have the job firmly down pat.  I also have school to contend with and I am now thinkingn of doing a double major.  We will see... I like to change my mind on things.

Lots of love-- I hope you are having as much success as I am.  I love my band-- I couldn't be happier with my results.

Susan
