Surgeon Testimonial

Paul E. Macik
I met with Dr. Macik for the first time October 4, 2006 at his office in Atlanta, GA. The office is small and Tiffany the assistant was very nice. I met with Dr. Macik for about 20 minutes total. He was reserved but professional and willing to answer any questions I had. rnrnHe asked me which WLS I was considering and I told him Lap Band. He told me to expect to lose 50% of the excess weight I have. I told him I expected 100% and that made him smile. rnrnHe told me he had never lost a patient due to complicatons with the Lap Band. Well, that's good news. :) He has done about 200 Lap Band surgeries to date. He said he would not use Flouro when doing my fills. rnrnI told him that if I could have the surgery tomorrow I would! rnrn12/19- I had my two week appointment today. My appointment time was 2 pm and I was called back at 3 pm! WTF? I do not like having MY time wasted. The appointment before this one was the same way- Appointment time at 2 pm and was called back at 2:45 pm. I suppose I won't be making anymore 2 pm appointments!

Our Wedding
on September 26, 2008 1:43 pm
I could not have asked for a more romantic wedding or fun reception.  My family came from Massachusetts for the big event; they started to arrive on Thursday and some came in on Friday.

Thursday night was spent having a big family dinner at my house with my brother, his girl friend, my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend and my best girl friend from Florida.  We had a great time showing them around our house and aquinting them with the dog.  :)

Friday, we packed everything into the cars and headed to the Inn where we were all staying.  We stopped at Doug's place for a southern lunch to treat our out of town guests- it was a lot of fun!!

Onto the Inn... it was about an hour and 15 min drive from our house to the Inn... the Inn was built in 1921, the church was built in 1851 and the academy was built around 1920.  There are 6 bedrooms in the Inn and it was a great location to have everyone stay!  We all enjoyed the accomodations and spending the weekend together.

The rehearsal got a bumpy start because my dad, sister and niece were having challenges finding the location.  We had a catered dinner for all of the out of town guests that was at 7:30 pm then at 9:15 pm we finally got around to the rehersal!  everything went well in the church and we returned to the Inn to visit, eat and drink some more.

Saturday, the wedding morning, we all went to the Cave which is right behind the church and walked through the cave.  It was a good time for all and the temperature was cool at 53 degrees.  I left everyone after coming out of the Cave to go make the bouquets for me and the girls.
After that the bouquets were made I went into the center of this very small, quaint town for a massage-- Ahhhh!  What a treat!!  I recommend a massage for all brides!!

I then walked back to the Inn where I had a bite to eat, then my groom and I layed down in bed for a nap, but we never did sleep.  We were so talkative that we never slept, but that was OK-- I had to get up to shower and prepare for the wedding!!  :)

My girlfriend Gina styled my hair in a tight low bun.  The only adornment I had was a band on the crown of my head- it was perfect for the look I was going for and the dress I wore.  Good job G!

The photographer arrived before I was ready so he took photos of Norm and his family-- then we all joined together for family photos.  Once that was done, Norman and I had a private session with the photographer which was awesome!  Some of the photos he took were truly amazing!  (I am waiting for the CD to arrive as I type)

I had more people tell me that this was the most romantic wedding they had ever been to- I wanted it that way, but that people actually felt that way is so heartwarming.  We had a lot of our friends involved in the wedding.  Normans friend was our minister, my friend (who has an incredible voice) sang for us, another friend told a story about our friendship, my nephew was the ringbarer. And last but not least... our girls stood up with us and lit candles for us.

The girls and ring barer walked down the Isle to the Beatles Love Me Do... very fun and upbeat... then there was silence before I walked down the isle to Standing Right Next to me by Karla Bonhoff...the ceremony was very touching and both Norman I were crying as we exchanged vows... it was very sweet.
Rascle Flats Bless the Broken Road was sung before we exchanged vows.... we also lit unity candles.

It was just a sweet wedding ceremony in a very precious church.  It was the perfect day for us.

The reception was fun too-- all the normal stuff you do at weddings was done... we cut the cake-- it was DELICIOUS!!  The only problem was that the baker stacked the cake instead of making it a tiered cake.  But the flavor was outstanding!

I never ate any of the catered food- we were too busy dancing and talking with people.  It was just so much fun that when the DJ's time was up, we all went back to the Inn and carried on some more.

I would certainly do it all again if I could, it was one of the most fun days of my life.

Love to all--

Susan
