My surgery went very well.  No complications and hardly any pain.  I have lost about 40 lbs which is great but I have hit a plateau since I have started eating more and not exercising.  I cant stand to exercise.  I know it is important.  I wish I could Love it like so many others.  I will force myself to do it.  I am glad I had this surgery but it is still alot of will power to make the right food choices (and exercise).

i am starting my liquid diet tomorrow.  i didnt buy the optifast from the dr..too expensive.  they insist i do this for 2 weeks (11 days for me).  i think all i can have is water and this meal replacement drink.  i will get through this.  if so many other people can do this, so can i!  my mom is already talking about me failing.  they say sometimes the people related or closest to you can have problems with your weight loss (i believe it).

My Story

I just turned 42 years old and have been over weight my entire life.  I think, as a kid, I went from a size 6x to a size 18.  Now I am a 22-24.  250 lbs.  I take 2 meds for high blood pressure and am border line diabetic.  Also a heart attack waiting to happen.  I decided to have bariatric surgery mainly to get healthy so I can be around for my 23 year old son, my 15 year old daughter and my 3 Grandkids.  I admit, though, I would love to be a 'normal' weight.  To not dread looking in the closet for something not too tight or that will cover my big stomach.   It is hard for me to imagine being 'not overweight' but I want it so bad that I am going to do all I can for this Lap Band to help me get there.
