Surgeon Testimonial

Muhammad A. Jawad, M.D.
I had a couple small bumps in the road, but I will say I came out of the surgery doing much better than I expected. The scars are small and neat. The Kevin and the staff are helpful and friendly. Besides being given information in written form, I was also given a dvd that I found useful. Jennifer, the nutritionist, was great! She squeezed me in and helped me loose weight prior to surgery. My experience is that Dr. Jawad is surgically competent which was the most important thing to me. His bedside manner is appropriate, but not overly friendly. I would say polite and quiet. If I had to do this again I would choose the same surgeon.

A big thank you to all of those who helped me in my journey!

My 2 1/2 Cents
Enjoying the Ride

As the theme from Jaws plays... "It's back!"
on May 28, 2008 9:04 pm

So, a couple of years ago I SCTV'd my scale.  It did nothing but give me a hard time.  I have been doing really well with my weight loss so I decided it was time to purchase another one...  A nice hydration scale.  The first one did not work, the second one partially worked, and the newest one works, but I just don't like what it has to say.  The doctor's office says plateau, but I say that scales are inherently evil.

"Hi" by Psapp & Cirque
I enjoy Cirque du Soliel and Wade Robson's choreography, so I thought I would share...

Sugar Free

I just got back from my primary care... no diabetes.  If I had to do the WLS all over again I would.

G-tube Removed
on April 29, 2008 7:13 am
Yesterday I had my g-tube removed.  I thought there was more to it.  I was so busy talking that I did not realize it had been removed.  I was even up to going to the WLS meeting afterward.

Before the meeting we stopped off at Panera for a bite to eat.  Their chicken salad has large pieces of chicken and tons of mayo.  I was so happy that they had a binder there with all the nutritional information of their foods.  The young lady was so helpful in finding something else I could eat.

I have lost thirty pounds since gb surgery and around fifty since January 31st.

My Story

I have been on a "diet" for as far back as I can remember.  I really thought it was about loosing weight, but after the surgery I realized it was more of a changing of the way I have been thinking.
