A Month until my surgery

May 27, 2009 is my date for surgery and I am so glad it's finally about to arrive. It seems like I have been on this journey for a million years, but also feels like it has gone quick. I have already begun my life changes. I have been shooting hoops most days for my exercise. My love of basketball is coming back. I have lost almost 30 lbs since Jan, and the nurse wants me to loose 12 more ahhh. lol Oh well, I am working really hard at it. I joined a gym yesterday so I won't be loosing any muscle after surgery. I have never did any weight training before, so I am not sure what to expect. My thoughts are so jumbled so sorry if I seem like I am babbling, cuz I am soooo excited. There is one thing that has been bugging me, and i wanted to know if it is just me. When I tell people like friends per say they say "oh you don't look like you need surgery" I am not sure what to make of that comment, but it has been offending me. Is it their way of saying we love you and this is my nice comment to you or is it people just don't see BMI of 43 overweight and needing surgery. I just am confused. Anyway, that is just something I am dealing with. I love the team at OHSU and I am excited to meet my surgon Dr Deveney on May 4th. I LOVE the NP Susan Fee. She is just AMAZING! And the dieticion Gloria was GREAT!
