Wednesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

10 day postop
posted on 3/3/07 7:09 am
3/3/07  Well, I am 10 days postop and have lost 11 pounds since my surgery date.  I lost 11 lbs prior to surgery, so my total is 22 lbs at 229 (started at 251).  That's a pretty good start.  I saw Dr Currie yesterday and he was pleased with my progress.  He gave me the green flag to start back at the gym, but to back off on my time on the treadmill.  He told me to cut my time in half and gradually increase it.  So far this has really gone well for me.

Last eveing we went out to eat.  I had 1/3 of a cup of Italian Wedding soup (I ate mainly the broth) and a few bites of cottage cheese.  It filled my pouch and I was done.  The server asked if I was waiting on my meal and I politely stated no (lol).  Wow, that was kind of weird, but it allowed my family a meal away from home, which they so enjoy.  I can't let the surgery impact their lives negatively.  I am looking forward to the seafood I will be able to eat as I move towards a regular diet.  I love scallops and shrimp.  One of the men in our support group stated that the imitation crab meat is really good too.

I am still having some headaches and Dr. Currie felt it could still be caffeine withdrawal.  He ordered lab work to make sure my blood sugar is stable.  I had problems with hypoglycemia in the past.  I hope to go to the gym tomorrow, and for today I am going to walk outside to see how it goes.  I am hoping for the best.
