Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I was a heart attack and death trap away, in about 5 years. I lost the love of my life. My mom passed away in 2004. I became pregnant and didnt know what to do in 2005. I decided on adoption. Over the past years I started gaining weight due to depression and Yes, living in Alaska. You know about the freshman "15" well over the years I gained over 80 lbs. I was eating my self to death. I kept eating and eating. Well little did I know I was Type II diabetic. I didn't go to the Dr.'s during a few years of my life due to the fact I didn't have health insurance. I was finally diagnosed in 2008. I was asked by my father in 2008 if I wanted weight loss surgery. I told him NO, I wanted to do this on my own. A few years later in 2011, I was at my heaviest 286...

GO TEAM!!!
on May 30, 2012 4:23 am
I am training to walk/run in the Mayor’s Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska on June 23, 2012. I know you think “Wow, Jennifer is doing a marathon.” And” I can’t believe how good she looks and how healthy she is becoming." I am walking to prove others that morbid obese people can accomplish anything they set their mind to.     I will be walking 13.5 mile race and raise funds to and awareness for research leading to a cure for leukemia and related cancers. Over the next 4 months I will be training hard getting ready for my 13.5 mile race. During this time I am also raising funds to help support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission to find a cure for blood cancers. All the while promoting a better-healthier lifestyle for myself and others. I am walking in honor of my co-worker Kirsten Kirk, a cancer victim, who is now going through treatment. I also walk in honor of all Type I and Type II Diabetics. Leukemia is a cancer of the body’s blood forming and immune systems; it affects the blood forming tissues, such as lymphatic tissues, bone marrow and spleen. It appears as uncontrolled, abnormal blood cells. The cause of leukemia remains unknown. However, the effectiveness of recently developed treatment methods and steady advances in research bring us closer every day to finding the cause and probable cure of leukemia and related cancers.   My goal is to raise $2,500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society, as well as to finish the race in front of my Dad and Kirsten. 75% of every dollar I raise will directly support research for a cure and provide financial assistance to families in our country struggling with the financial burden of treatment.    I have made a commitment to run/walk this marathon and bring us 13.5 miles closer to providing hope, peace, and freedom to individuals battling blood cancer. I am hopeful you will join me in the fight against blood cancer. You can help by visiting:   http://pages.teamintraining.org/wa/anchor12/jenniferdwhite   And donating generously to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Every bit counts!   Donations are tax deductible. If you donate $100, you can earn 100 Alaska Airline Miles (contact me for details).   *If you would like, you can also mail a check payable to LLS to my address below*   Jennifer White, 1206 West 47th Avenue # B, Anchorage, Alaska 99503.

Thank you for your support and Go Team!     Getting healthy one step at a time,   Jennifer     The tax id # is: #13-5644916

Pre - Op Meals
on August 19, 2011 7:10 am
I am schedule for my surgery and I am doing my Pre-Op for surgery. I am supposed to get my liver ready as they say. I am only having 3 meals a day and 1 meal is a Lean cuisine and 2 other meals are Protein shakes and a small piece of fruit.

I did slack off 2 days of 7, I am proud of my self and that I have not had soda for like 10 days or so. I need to have plain coffee, I am quite not ready for that. I like my coffee sweet with vanilla creamer.

On Tuesday, I get to find out my results from the blood tests.
