Surgeon TestimonialJames KorenI met Dr. Koren 3 years ago and again last year. As always, he's kind and explains things. I'm sure he's a fine doctor and I'm looking forward to surgery with him!

Hey, Jenn. I'll be
praying for you
tomorrow. You'll do
just fine and you'll
be home before you
know it. Dr. K &
Mandy will take good
care of you.
You'll be on the
loser's bench soon.
Suggestion: Take a
box of good tissues,
or at least a wad,
cause the hospital's
are horrible. You
can take your own
pillow from home.
Chapstick, slippers,
toothbrush & paste,
deoderant, comb or
brush and your set.
You won't need or
want more than that.
Good Luck! All my
best, Cheryl.

Thursday is your
day! Just remember
you are on the
journey of a

enjoy every minute.
It may sound weird
now, but know that
you are cared for
and prayed for here,
and all too soon
this will be but a
memory and you will
be an inspiration to
someone else. I am
waiting for you on
the losers' bench! ~

Skin, Skin... EVERYwhere! on August 6, 2007 6:29 am
That's what it feels like... skin everywhere. I could fly away with my arms as they are... and my boobs, let's not EVEN go there. I can see I'll need some major skin removal in the future.
But on a very nice note, the scale has been consistantly moving for me the past two weeks or so. I like that much better than the 2 1/2 week stall, but I'm prepared for that to happen again when/if it does.
It's funny going out to buy clothing. I don't know what size to go for. Yesterday we went to the cast picnic for the PA Renaissance Faire and I bought a t-shirt in the shop and was thinking I wouldn't be able to wear it yet. Funny thing, considering I'm wearing it right now. :) My size perception is WAY off when it comes to clothing now. Nice but hard to get used to. I'm down 2 to 3 sizes, depending on the clothing. It's nice to go from a 6x to a 3x!
I have a long way to go yet and I hope I can get to my ultimate goal... but that's another 160 lbs. Seems like a LONG way away. We shall see. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :)
I hope everyone is doing well!

Just when I think the scale will never move, it does. Funny thing, that scale! I'm not too thrilled about the looser skin and smaller boobs, but it's better than having the extra weight I've lost.
I have to say... I LOVE JEANS, JEANS SKIRTS, etc. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I could never wear them before. Now I rock them ;) LOL
I hope all are doing well! More later!

Ho Hum on July 2, 2007 11:39 am
Well, I've hit a plateau. To top it all off, I can eat ANYTHING (haven't tried sugary stuff yet, but anything else) and haven't thrown up once. I'm actually disappointed because I was counting on that to hinder my eating somewhat.
I feel like I'm eating too much. I've been feeling hungry too. How that is possible at 5 weeks out I'd love to know.
Sigh... I really hope I don't fail with this.

Amazing... on June 14, 2007 1:48 pm
I was getting irritated because the scaled hadn't moved since last Monday! It actually went up and down 2 lbs. Well today it FINALLY moved... down 10 lbs even. I feel better about that.
I'm having some pain issues, I think from overdoing it by going back to work and working long hours this week. Yesterday I had to go home early and came in late today. I see Dr. K tomorrow and will ask him about it. That and I think I have a UTI, blech.
I'm having trouble getting in enough protein and water in... it's a struggle because I'm not hungry at all and can only eat 4 tiny bites before feeling like I gorged at the local buffet. It's so hard to get used to.
I have had my bouts of mourning food and frustration... but I'm sure everyone does. Still no vomiting from anything (knock on wood!) so that's a plus.
Well, back to work!

WOW moments! on June 9, 2007 8:55 am
I really didn't think or expect to have any wow moments yet, but I have had several. I just had one a few minutes ago and I'm so happy. I tried on a pair of pants that I bought 3 weeks ago that I could not zip up. They have been hanging on the back of the bathroom door, so while getting dressed to go swimming (my bathing suit has room now too!) I tried them on and HOLY MOLEY, not only do they zip up, I have ROOM in them too. I am SO shocked.
I'm feeling good. I have some pain in the left side yet near the evil port entrance, but it's getting better. I'm having a bit of trouble eating enough to get in my protein, but I'm going to ask the doc about that this week.
I'm anxious to know my weight... My 1st post op visit last Friday was 399.5. Then on Monday my weight was 391.5. I haven't weighed myself anywhere since Monday. I will be weighing again on Monday and I can't wait to see if I've dropped more. :-D
I've gone through some food mourning, but it's slowly getting better. My tastes are changing too... it's funny but neat at the same time.
Well, I'm off to go swimming, I hope everyone is doing well!

My Story My Weight Chart:

MY STORY:
I am 34 and I have battled with my weight since I was about 14. I'm divorced, as of October of 2006, after a 10 year marriage. I now have a boyfriend that I love dearly. I love all kinds of things and I've gotten into new things such as the Ren Faire and ring announcer for an independent profiessional wrestling company. In 2006 I got two tattoos and dyed my hair black (I'm a natural blonde.) I want to be something more than I was for 10 years... I want to experience me... and all the things I've missed.
A little over four years ago now I was going to have the surgery. I spent the night before crying and was hysterical by the time I got to the hospital. Needless to say, I chickened out then. I finally had my surgery on May 24, 2007 with Dr. Koren at Easton Hospital and it was the best thing I have done so far for myself in my life. It saved my life!
