Final countdown
on April 27, 2013 4:13 pm

Hi there,

My name is Jenn and I live in Ontario Canada. I had my interview with the surgeon in Toronto  and he said that my surgery would be in June or July! Super pumped but I had wished it would be earlier. There have been a lot of delays that were not my fault, i.e. tech didn't take the right bloodwork etc.

Since my referral was first sent in July 2012 I have lost 30 pounds on my own by eating smaller portions and trying to exercise every day. I also lost my full time job in March 2013 and had to go down to part time but that has afforded me more time to exercise and less time sitting at a desk all day!

Although I am looking forward to felling better and doing all sorts of fun things with my family, I am also scared shit-less about the surgery. I just keep focusing on the outcome and my more active lifestyle.

It has been helpful to read every ones success on this site.

Thanks

Finally Got my Referral Package!
on October 16, 2012 12:05 pm
Yipeeee. The ball is officially rolling now.
The Bariatric Center had received my referral on August 7th and i just got the questionnaire from them in the mail yesterday.
Wow, what a lot of questions. I enjoyed filling it out and realized that I am lucky to have such a healthy childhood, loving parents and supportive husband.
Now I have to have my GP complete his portion of the questionnaire and then complete all the required blood work and tests.
Next up will be the Orientation meeting. My hubby is going to come with me so yeah...no repeating everything!
A colleague of mine has his surgery booked for less then two months from now. I have watched his journey and am so excited for him. Seems like it took forever but really, it all happened quite quickly.
Well, here I go on one of the biggest things I have every undertaken. Thank you all so much for blogging and posting pictures. I am the biggest girl of all my friends so i have never really told them about all the pain and discomfort I live with daily. With this website I have seen that there are so many people out there who are JUST LIKE ME !!!
You are all so brave for posting your pictures and sharing your stories. Thank-you so much.
Jenn
