My Story

Hi all
Here is me in a nut shell. I am a 35 year old mother of 4. I guess my weight problems started shortly after I started my menstral cycle. Which was anything but normal it had a mind of its own and would come when ever it felt like it by the time I was 18 it was like I had started menopause with my cycle being non existant. I had been to many gyno specialist none of which could tell me what was going on although one did tell me that I would never be able to have children and seeing as I had the same partner since high school we didn't take precautions any more because hey why bother if its not going to happen right! WRONG at 24 I found out I was expecting my first child yeah!!!but then when he was born I weighted over 200 lbs and kept gaining but my cycles returned to normal probably the birth control when Nick turned 1 we desided to try again but with out being successful i went on clomid to improve my chances but still no baby in belly but some weight gain When I finally got pregnant with EM i was around 215 lbs butwas very sick and in fact was hospitalized many times for weight loss I had lost approx 50 the Dr. had said but as I had hoped it didn't stay gone for long and added up quite quickly even though I was on weight watchers and went to my meetings when I wasn't seeing any results I desided to quit because why pay money for something that was not working. Two years later I was at a weight of 235 and pregnant again this time the pregnancy was good and no problems with the deliver I actually delivered before the dear doctor got back to the hospital. My weight was at a stand still at 235 till I became pregnant the fourth time this time I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was put on metformin when all was said and done I have an emergency c-section because my placenta had abrupted and I was bleeding out. as an outcome from that traumatic experience I walked away with multiple pulmonary embolisims and a DVT. Since then I got infection in my section and had to have alot of skin removed which left an indent in my lower abdomin when it finally healed in November did I mention the section was in May thats right 6 months for it to heal because apparently my diabetes didn't go away when the baby was born. So you can only imagine what 6 months of bed rest and absolutly no physical activities did so my weight problem. I was diagnosed a short time after with having Poly cystic Ovaries but my dear gyno will not remove the ovaries even though I have had my tubes tied because she things I am to young. My diabetes have been playin tricks on me with having unbelievable readings for no apparent reasons and now my Husband is complaining that my snoreing is getting out of control because no one else can sleep in the house because I snore to loud. To tell you the truth I have actually heard myself on occasion while drifting off or while relaxing on the couch I actually start to snore before I fall asleep.pretty freaky I wonder if that is the sleep apnea everyone keeps telling me about. anyway I topped the scale at 276lbs. and in 2 years I have only managed to get down to 265lbs. So Now begins the journey to the rest of my life. My decision to have WLS. I think I will choose to have the RNY surgery . I will keep you posted as time passes. Wish me luck and Good luck and prayers to everyone out there who is going on this journey like me.
