I got my date!
on September 8, 2011 9:35 am
I went to TWH on Sept 2 and met with Dr. Penner. I got my date and it's sept 26!!!! I am so excited to finally get my date. The best part is my friend Kim (Jahdayah) is going for surgery the same day! Her surgery is at 8am and mine is at 11!

I started optifast on Monday and so far so good! I have been able to get all 4 shakes in and I am not too hungry. Day 3 was the hardest so far because I wanted some food....but I didn't give in. I have been on holidays this week and i don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing. As bad as it may sound I feel ready to go back to work. I think the time to surgery will be just that much quicker when I get back to work.

I go for my PATTS appointments on Sept 15 and I am going to go up to the 4th floor and have them weigh me...as of right now my scale only goes up to 330 and according to TWH I am 339....soon enough I will register on my own scale...I can't wait for that day!

Almost There!!!!
on August 31, 2011 6:45 am
I am soo excited to almost be at the end of this process. On friday I am going to TWH to meet with Dr. Penner and get my surgery date. It's hard to believe the time is finally here!

People were always saying once you get your orientation time just flies by and that really is the truth. It seems like it was only a couple weeks ago (It was really June 16)

I found the key to getting through the process quickly was to call on a regular basis to see if they had any cancellations. I don't think that I had any of my appointments on the original date scheduled!

I am so thankful to have the opportunity to go through this process!

Bring on FRIDAY!!!!!!

My Story

I am 25 years old and have been overweight since I was about 8. A few years ago I did Dr. Bernsteins and lost 115lbs, I stopped the injections and gained about 130lbs in just over 2 years! My highest weight was 338, lowest in the last 5 years was 193. I am currently at 315. (5'9) I joined weight watchers in January and am down 23lbs. It feels great to be loosing some weight again! In May 2010 I had a miscarriage at about 5-6 weeks. It was absolutely devastating to me. I'm honestly not surprised it happened tho. With being as over weight as I am, buying a house, getting married in a couple weeks, etc I was completely stressed out.

Another thing I am dealing with is that since my miscarriage I haven't had a period! (1 year in May!)

I have been thinking about the surgery and wasn't 100%. I know a few people of have gone through it with success, I also know someone who is a doc that has performed the surgery and the horror stories she was telling me scared me to be honest. But I look at it as there are so many people out there that go through the surgery and are completely fine!

My weight is paying a toll on my body. I am starting to get sore knees and ankles and feeling like I am alot older then I am. Something that's really important to me is having a family and I want that really badly but for me its so much more important to get me under control before worrying about a little one. Even if it means waiting an extra couple years!
