Surgeon Testimonial

Thomas Sonnanstine M.D.
Dr. Sonnanstine really cares about his patients; he wants the best outcome and takes the time to go over all aspects of the surgery. I went into my consultation completely nervous and scared, but Dr. Sonnanstine put me at ease immediately. He was kind, answered my questions and didn't make me feel rushed or like I was taking up his time. He is a wonderful, compassionate and understanding doctor. He even performed weight loss surgery on a few of his employees and they look awesome. That really made my decision to have him do my surgery even easier. His office staff is amazing. I had so many problems with my insurance and getting approval, Christine helped me through every bit of it. She was very patient with all my calls to her towards the end of the approval process. Taryn, is the best! She has been there for every question and concern that I had. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my decision to go with Dr. Sonnanstine. I also know that after my surgery he will give me the same care and attention he and his staff have given me thus far.

We its been such a long road to finally get the the place that I am now.  It took me over 6 months to get my insurance to approve my surgery.  Now that I got it, I am so nervous. I don't even know what to think.  I am just waiting on my official date.  Hopefully I will know something in the next couple days.

Well I did it. I finally got my surgery date.  JANUARY 28th.  I am so excited and nervous at the same time.  It's less than 2 weeks away.  Now what do I do?

9 days post op and doing ok!
on February 5, 2008 6:08 pm
I just wanted to let everyone know how I was doing.  As most of you know I had the Band surgery on the 28th.  I had two really rough days as far as the pain goes.  I was also having a real hard time drinking anything.  Towards the end of the week I was a lot better.  In fact I was feeling good enough to do a (little) shopping with Kelli.  My biggest problem is finding a protein supplement that doesn't gag me.  For now I will stick to my carnitation instant breakfast with milk 3 times a day.  The sugar free pop sicles and jello have been my life savior.  Hopefully the next time I email you guys it will be to say how much weight I have lost.  My Dr. Appointment is next Monday, and that is when I will get weighed.  Mom says I have lost about 5-10 pounds already, But I really cant tell.  Well anyway just wanted to give everyone an update.

Pre-Op Testing
on January 24, 2008 9:26 pm
I had my pre-op testing today.  Everything went great except for the lady who didn't know how to take blood.  It took her 4 times and 4 needles to take the amount she needed.  Tomorrow is my last day of work before my surgery.  I am really excited about that.  Monday is the big day!!!!!! My doc told me to have my "Last Supper" tomorrow night.  I can't decide what that will be yet, though it will defiantely include a chocolate desert!  I lost 2 1/2 pounds since last Thursday!  That was exciting to find out today.  Well I'm sure I will post this weekend when it get a little closer.

What a Journey!
on November 2, 2007 11:03 pm

So I am really new at this......I just started doing this blog stuff.  Someone I know who already had the lapband suggested I join a support group.  I have completed all my classes and now I am waiting for the dreded insurance.  Its taken 4 weeks for them to actually receive it.  Its just a waiting game now.  Hopefully I will hear something a week or two.  I know several people who have already gotten approvals.  I am just hoping for the best.  Wish me Luck!
