Shanu Kothari, M.D. Initial impression was he was very professional and knowledgeable. He has performed over 550 WLS and everyone I have talked to that has had the surgery, has had it done by him. He is at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, WI and performa primarily Laparoscopic GB but will do open if it is warranted.
I would recommend him to anyone in the area that is considering having it done. He is very in tune to the aftercare and support groups that Gundersen offers and has a fabulous dietary staff as well as surgery team that are all about the patient.
Katy,
Congrats on your new
beginning tomorrow.
I will pray for you
a smooth and quick
recovery. I'm sure
you'll be just fine.
Remember to take it
one day at a time.
Save me a seat on
the losers bench,
I'll be there a day
later.
Okay! WOWZERS! Last night I was ona qwest. Every yearthe surgeons, nutritionists andrest of the surgicalteam at GundersenLutheran put on aBariatric Ball forallpost-operatives. Kind of a tux/formaldress affair. K...the last time Idelved into theformal dress arenawas at my JuniorProm 21 years ago.
I have gained afew hundred poundssince then.
I was walkingaround the ApacheMall in Rochester,Minnesota lookingfor the dress thatwould have the lightshining down on itkind of like whenClark Griswold findsthe perfect tree atChristmas time....Iwas beginning togive up hope. Nothing NICE wasgoing to fit me andI even consideredNOT going to theball.
I had gone intoevery store exceptfor Herberger's. Depending on whereyou live...it is asister store toYounker's/Carson'slalalalala. Ithought...great...another gawdy promdress store where Iam not going to findanything, or I wouldfind something mygrandmother wouldhave worn with somecheap ass smellingperfume.
THEN.....................The ClarkGriswold momenthappened. The dresswas beautiful, fireworks were goingoff around me andlightining shot outmy ass as I was soexcited about thedress I found....butwould it fit? Ifound myself lookingat the size 24s whenI clearly knew itwould be way toobig. I was nolonger thatperson...well stillthat person, just asmaller version....Ichose a size 14. Ihad a gut wrenchingfeeling in mystomach I would bedisappointed.
BUT I WASN'T. Itzipped up andeverything. I hateto toot my own horn, but I lookedstunning and Istarted crying.
I bought thegown...and I willtake pictures of myfine self in it andpost them later foryou to see. Ishould have done itat the same time asthis, but I couldn'twait to write aboutit.
THAT'S WHAT I'MTALKING ABOUT!
