Sabatoge on His Part or Weakness on Mine
on October 29, 2010 3:33 pm

I love my hubby VERY much, and he loves me as well.  He likes to bring me home surprises sometimes.  Such a sweet thought!  I really love that he wants to make me happy.  It’s a way that he shows me he loves me.

Unfortunately, the things he tends to bring home are food related- chips and dip(my own personal weakness), kiwi strawberry Snapple, candy bars, etc.  Tonight it was pizza.  Pizza and potatoes of all sorts are probably my very favorite food.  {{sigh}}

I am trying, I really am.  but there’s that yummy smelling pizza sitting in there, and I’m hungry.  I had planned on having leftover turkey chili for supper.  I really should go heat it up.  But there’s that pizza.

I ate 3 pieces.

I had a talk with him about it.  He knows I’m trying to lose weight.  But he also knows it’s one of my favorite foods and that I won’t be able to have it for much longer.  Plus he said, “But it’s supreme.  See, it’s covered in vegetables so it’s healthier.”  {{sigh}}  He just wanted to surprise me.  He rented me a movie I’ve been wanting to see, and got me a pizza, which I love.  I asked him what he was going to get me when I couldn’t have this junk food anymore.  He had no idea of anything else I might like.  I filled him in on many things that would be a nice surprise.

In the future, I hope he will remember.  In the future, I hope I will resist

Getting Ready
on October 26, 2010 3:49 pm

6 months of weight loss? check
Ooodles of presurgery testing? check
Insurance approval? check
Emotions in order? still working on that...

Oh boy, the time is getting close.  Honestly I'm scared to death.  My thoughts are all over the place.  Last week when I was told insurance had approved me I was super excited for about 2 minutes.  Then came the tears.  Can I do this?  What if it doesn't work?  What if I'm nauseous or hungry all the time?  What if I don't even make it through surgery?  What in the world will my family do without me?  Is this normal?  I have no idea, but I'm meeting with the surgeon next week to get a date scheduled so I need to pull it together.

I can't stop flipping through the before and after pictures on this site.  It's so exciting to think of me in 12 months.  I can't wait to see my collar bone!
