Surgeon Testimonial

Neal Gorrin, M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Gorrin was a very understanding and warm hearted person. He really cares about his patients. rnrnMy impression has not change one bit. If anything I have more respect for him now then when I first met him.rnrnThe office staff is outstanding with the exception of one that you never know what kind of mood she is going to be in. At times she is very cold and a mean person. rnrnThis really isn't anything I can say bad about Dr. Gorrin. I had to go back into the hospital due to gas and he spent most of his Sunday at the hospital making sure I was ok. I had to spend two extra days and he checked on many times on Monday. He's the greatest!!!rnrnI would rate Dr. Gorrin at a 10.rnrnI couldn't say one was better then the other. He is the best at both. (surgical competence and bedside manner.rn

Can't believe it's been 5 years.
on January 11, 2012 5:59 am
I know it's been a long time since I posted.  But so much has happened in my life.  I am pleased to say I am still at 133 with my weight.  Doing great!!!  Feel great!!!  I would do it again.:)  Still the smartest thing I have ever done for myself.
I went back to school in May of 2009.  I am now a hair stylist.  It is what I have always wanted to do since I was a little girl.  It's great to enjoy your job!!! In July of 2010 we moved from Oregon to Texas.  (My husband is from here).  The job market was not good in Oregon an there was more opportunity for my husband here.  I have to say I love it here.  He is very happy to be back in his home state.
So, I guess that about wraps it up.  Hope everyone is doing great...  I will try an check in more.  Now that life isn't so crazy....

Hugs!!!!

Pam

Hope everyone is doing great!!!

Hugs to all!!!

11 months out
on December 10, 2007 4:33 pm

Hi Everyone…..

Just wanted to give a 11 month update.  I have lost 113 pounds.  I am 3 pounds under my goal weight.  I am actually in the normal weight now with my BMI.  I can’t believe it.  I am wearing a size 4 or 6.  Small in shirts.  I still can’t believe it’s me when I look in the mirror.  I have lost over 100 inches over my body.

I still can’t eat sugar.  But that’s ok.  I like the way I look and feel.  It’s well worth it.  I go in on the 11th of next month  (January) for my 1 year check up.  I will try and get some photo’s posted very soon.  I am getting my hair done tomorrow so I will try to get my husband to take some then.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hugs to all,

Pam

9 Months
on October 10, 2007 11:32 am

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well with everyone.  Well it’s been 9 months today and I have lost 101 pounds and 84 ¾ total inches.    I can’t believe it.  I feel great.  Like I have said over and over again I would do it again in a heart beat.  It has been the best thing I could have ever done for myself.  I love to go shopping now.  I am wearing a size 6 to 8 in pants.  Size small and medium tops.  I have turned into an exercise junkie.  (Much better then the food junkie I use to be).  I love running on the treadmill these days.  I still can’t eat sugar but that’s ok.  I will get some updated photos on this weekend.

Hugs to all,

Pam

6 Months

Hi everyone,

I went in for my six month check up and I have lost 75 pounds.  I also had to say goodbye to my doctor because he is moving back to California.  It was very sad.  He will be missed very much.

I have lost over 60 inches all over.  I can't believe it.  I look at the photo's and I can't believe it's me.  I weigh less then my driver's license say.  That's a first in 20 years.  They say 185.  LOL

I still would like to lose 35 more pounds.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Hugs,

Pam

My Story

My name is Pam and I am 40 years old and I have been over weight my whole life.  I came into this world weighing 11 ½  pounds.  I was always the heaviest girl in the class room. I was made fun of all the time for being fat. I can’t tell you how many days a week I would come home crying because of the kids on the school bus.  My older sister (who is very slim to this day) doesn’t know what it is like to be heavy and she would tell the kids to shut up and leave me alone but you and I both know how mean kids are.

Then the summer before I went into 6th grade my parents put me into weight watchers.  (both of my parents are over weight also).  I lost the extra weight and when I went back to school after summer break the kids couldn’t believe it was me.  I kept off the weight during junior high and high school but I worked at it everyday.  I took three gym glasses while in high school and I was a cheerleader.  But then I got married and then got pregnant with my oldest daughter Kelsi who is 17 (born in 1989) now.  I gain more then 80 pounds.  And needles to say it’s never left.  Two years later I was blessed with another little girl who’s name is Kayleigh and she is15 (born in 1991) now.

I have done every diet out there.  I work with a wonderful person who had RNY last April and she and I talked about it in great lengths.  She also told me our insurance covered it.  I had always done a lot of reading about it and knew some people who had done it.  But I always didn’t have the money to do it.  I was a single mom raising two girls on my own and didn’t have time to be down due to surgery.

But now…JJJ         I have gotten remarried  (2 ½  wonderful years now) and my kids are older and my husband (Jeff) and I talked about it and at first he was very much against it.  I talked him into going with me to the Oregon Bariatric Center for a informational seminar.  That’s where everything changed.  My husband was so impressed with it he said I needed to take the next step and found out more.  Well I did and that’s when I met Dr. Gorrin.  He’s is wonderful.  I can not put into words the way he made me feel the day I went in and met with him and the other office staff.  In fact they are all wonderful.
