Phillip Hornbostel, M.D.
We went to the April 5th seminar and I felt so secure with my decision for the first time since I began thinking about surgery. Dr. Hornbostel is a very down to earth doctor, he knows how we got this way and he doesn't sugar coat it. I loved it when he talked about his goals for us. Each of us have an ideal weight we'd love to be but Dr. Hornbostel only cares about his goal for us which is to help us get rid of things like diabetes, arthritis, etc. He was very open about the risks of surgery and gave us information on how to recognize them. The aftercare program is very thourough. As I mentioned above I am very calm about this whole thing now and it is because of the confidence of Dr. Hornbostel and his staff.

On my Way

I am finally on my way to having a life changing event. Brooklyn is a blessing and I'm so glad I had her, even though I was ready for bariatric surgery. Now I am ready again. My excitement is because I just changed my insurance so that the Doctor I want to do this surgery for me is covered. Yet  my daughter still has her regular pediatrician. Besides all that its 40 dollars cheaper a pay period, which is a cause to celebrate too. I have to do this, at the dr. the other day I was weighed in as 470 lbs. As I watched Biggest Loser last night I felt about as sad as I ever have. They went on and on about how one girl was the biggest girl they'd  ever had and I easily outweighed her by 100 lbs. I have to use this tool because diets have failed and I am ready to make a life change. I have to be around for my little girl and I want to be the mom she isn't ashamed of.
