One Week Post-OP

Down 6 lbs.!
Can't imagine why?!?  I don't eat anything....I would have thought I would be at least 10 lbs. lighter by now....but I'm not complaining.  6 lbs. is better than none.

Seriously....still mainly liquids.  The only soft foods I have tried are really soft scrambled eggs and these are a keeper.  At first I tried blending a hard boiled egg with some milk....disgusting!  I have also tried whipped potatoes thinned with milk...I add chicken flavored protein and these are OK.  I have tried several protein drink recipes....I have chocolate and unflavored protein, but none of it is tasty and I don't really want to drink it at all.  I want real protein...meat, cheese, eggs, beans....even soy burgers!
Ok...enough whining.

As far as pain and gas.....much, much better!   No real gas pains since day 5.  I haven't used gas x at all really.  I have been walking every day...and today I drove for the first time!  No problem.  I haven't used pain meds since day 4.  I wish I had had a binder for my stomach, but the nurse at the hospital looked at me like I was a crazy when I asked about it the day of my surgery.  She had no idea what I was talking about...even though it is listed on my hospital "prep" sheet from my Dr. as possible things I may use.  It would have come in handy when sleeping...b/c I couldn't sleep on my side until last night.  Anyway, would have been helpful this week, but pain is much better now.

So far so good.....and tomorrow I am going to try some cream of wheat....and maybe some creamy chicken salad!  Yeah for CHICKEN!
