Surgeon Testimonial

Geoffrey Nadzam, M.D.
Dr Nazdam was a joy to have. So nice to be able to a doctor as comfortably and honestly as it was talking to him. The man knows his stuff and it shows in the way he puts you at ease. That pretty much sums it up. The day of surgury I was at ease and quite comfortable with what lay ahead. Post op has been great as well and I think both he and his staff are wonderful. On a scale of one to ten Dr. Nazdam is an eleven!

2 years out and all's well !
on March 30, 2007 12:19 pm
Well, am 2 years out from surgery and everything is going great. Have settled into a comfortable weight that moves around in a ten pound window which is also ok! The energy and stamina I have these days is amazing! I go for a 3 mile walk just to pass the time of day! I never feel tired and my  cannot remember the last time my knees hurt. All in all this surgery was a godsend for me. In the process I have managed to bring my son  into the fold and he lost 40 pounds and now knows how to eat properly and excersize . Hopefully I have saved him the fate I had and he will never need this surgery..
So nice to look forward to ever new day! Thank You to all that have helped me get to where I am today! Take Care,

January is almost over and "Winter" has begun
on January 28, 2007 4:33 am
Well, it has finally gotten cold out. Gotta give "Mother Nature" a big "Atta Girl" for giving us all those extra weeks of mild weather!  Now just doing my best at getting through those "Post Holiday" slow days. Between the guilt of over indulging  during the holidays and just trying to go "Grazing" on those cold, stuck in the house days. Can get pretty tough at times. We must remember to take it "One Day at a time!" Beating ourselves up over little slip ups just drives us deeper into dispair . Thats the last thing we need when we slip up! Just dust yourself off and try again. None of us are without "sin" and we all remember that the only people taking score that matter is "Ourselves"! So Best of luck and Lets look forward to spring and work at looking "Hot" for the summer fun ahead! Take Care,

Week 3 Post op Tummy Tuck
on December 10, 2006 10:00 am
Well I'm a little over 3 weeks post op  on my  "Tummy Tuck" and I must say I am at about 85%. Stil a little numb around my abs but feeling pretty good. Had my drains removed at 2 weeks post op and it felt so good being without them. Heading back to work  starting  Monday the 11th. Will have to be careful about lifting  things that are too heavy but feel great other wise. All in all wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be and would reccomend my surgeon to anybody wholeheartedly. Dr. Jeff Aron's is a great guy and did an awsome job on me. Am very happy with the results. "The Journey Continues"

My Story

Well, Guess I have to start at the begining of my "Journey". Have been overweight for most of my adult life. Bad habits and inactivity pushed my weight up to 409 pounds > Was a Type 2 Diabetic and had high blood pressure. My wife had WLS in in 2003 with not very good results. Worked fine at first but she slipped back into old habits. Decided to get the surgery in 2005. Made the forst appointment to go to an information meeting as St. Ray's in New Haven in January. Liked what I learned there and made an appointment with Dr. Nazdam. Weighed in at the first visit at 409 with a BMI of 58. We Talked about the surgery and decided to go with it. Had all my tests and got approved so my surgery was set for March 29th 2005.

Dr Nazdam is a great surgeon and was quite at ease whenthey wheeled me into the operating room. Paid attention to  the "Rules" of the pouch and learned what happen's whenthey are not followed. "NOT GOOD"! Started excesizing and eating properly with my new stomach and the weight started droppping off. tHis definitly isn't an easy way to lose weight, but you get out of it what you put into it.  Am now 18 months out and still losing slowly and looking forward to my to my next surgery to remove exces skin around my waist. Started out at 409 pounds. Am now 214 pounds!!!!! So many great changes, Have never touched  Dibetes meds or blood pressure meds since surgery. Just had my Physcal and everything was "PERFECT"!!!!! This has changed my life totally for the better andI have saved my son from going thry my fate as we both go to the gym, eat right and  keep busy! THAT is the Biggest and Best Achievment for me! My sonwill not grow up fat !

Now life is all about enjoing this new life "WLS" has given me and will do just that! As soon As I canfigure out how to post pictures on my new profile I will add them, Take care and Remember nothing is impossible  as long as you belive in yourself and work hard at it! Take Care All!
