When I went for my 1 year update visit, Dr. Sherer saw me and was so very helpful in asking ME questions. He gave me information that was and still is very helpful. He is a very thorough Physician and such a professional at everything he does. I am 20 months out now and I have had no trouble with my surgery. Recently I have had some sharp pains in my left side. June 8, 2006 I'm whisking Torey and Allison away today. I'm waking them up at 7 and headed outta Dodge. I just feel we HAVE to get away today. Where? I dunno, but we are getting away. I'm thinking a ride down to Ft. Walton, Destin, Water World in Dothan, just somewhere. I DO know there will be a picnic in my plans. Have you ever just got in your car and drove? I'll know where we are going once the car heads out I guess. I've already got goodies packed up and the cooler ready. They have NO CLUE! I tip toed in their rooms and got their swim suits. We do have to make the usual Wally World trip for some drinks and sun block. I am giving my life meaning today. Planned and destined to spend it with my 2 wonderful children. I've had e mails asking for updates on them. They are doing well. Each and every day is a challenge. A LOT of days, they are my strength. Of course you know as well as I do that the Lord is my strength, but (if this makes sense) I do draw strength from seeing them and how they react to things. It means the world to me when they come up and just hug me for no reason. When they make me laugh. When they are just sitting there starring into space and I KNOW they are thinking about their Momma. Allison passed everything in school with ALL "A's" and "B's"! She will be in the 7th Grade next year. Ball season is FINALLY over this year for her. Torey passed everything too with B's and C's. I am so amazed and blessed by them. I am proud of their grades after what they have been through this year. Torey was disappointed in his grades until I explained that to him. Please continue to pray for my two babies. They don't like for me to call them that, but they will ALWAYS be my babies. We have become so much closer these last 5 months. I love that! We have always been close, but man......I love my babies!
June 12, 2006 Today I have had a lonesome day. I miss Joie. I'm so lonesome w/o her. I don't mean that sexually and I can say that comfortably to you all, but I miss having her to share life with. We argued, but she WAS my best friend! God I miss her! I'm trying not to get into depression and trying to GRIEVE too much, but my God! How much can I take! Lonesome even with Torey and Allison around? YES! Big time! Please say a prayer for me. I don't mean to sound selfish, but I KNOW I can count on ya'll! THANK YOU!!
MY BABIES
June 24, 2006 Well, Jessica and Tyler were married today. I was asked to prepare and manage the food for the wedding. I had the MOST fun I have had in a long time doing the food for this wedding. I dunno why. No one showed up to help. But it was SO FUN! I will and CAN brag on myself. The food looked wonderful. I had to do the presentation of the food as well as prepare. What a lot of fun that was! I was only supposed to prepare. The reception was a "Beach" theme. There were watermelon bowls with fruit, taco dip, I had the cheese a ball molded in the shapes of sea shells, 2 others were just round, pineapple spears and used the tops of the pineapples as a garnish, I hollowed out the cantaloupe shells and filled them with a fruit dip made of cream cheese and marshmallow cream, there was shrimp with cocktail sauce (sauce served in margarita glasses), nuts, cocktail sausages, chicken salad, pimento cheese sandwich wedges, you name it. The Mom, Kim, had plenty of food! WOW! The punch was made from pink lemonade and the garnishes were fruit wedges frozen in molds. The lady (and her husband) that did the decorating did an awesome job. There were cabana lights that lined our Family Life Center, the center pieces on the tables were vases made in to gold fish bowls. Shells and other beach themes were also used. I sound like I am writing the newspaper clipping for the wedding. There were over 300 people there. I DID, THANK GOD, have some ladies there (the mom had lined up) to be runners to keep things full. I would NOT have been able to do that. I was still cooking mini quiche up to the last minute. I had people come back to the kitchen asking me if I did this for a living. Also, I had 2 people ask me "IF" I could do an upcoming event for them. We'll see. I told them to contact me later on. Every fiber of my being ached last night. I came home at 5 and went straight to bed. I don't mean that to sound like I am complaining! I LOVED doing this and would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I will have pix as soon as the photographer e mails them to me this week. They are saved in my Yahoo Link up top. The Mom said she'd make sure I got them! I would love to do this and earn extra money while doing it. Who knows? Maybe someday.
