Onederland

Well, I'm so excited that I've made my biggest goal.  I made it into onderland by my birthday which is next week, Dec. 13.  We are going on a family cruise and I wanted to at least be down below 200 for this cruise and I'm there.  One thing I've had to do is to shop for clothes and shoes for this trip and found it to be kind of difficult yet rewarding!  If you haven't noticed, I also have a new hairdo. With that and new clothes I totally look like a different person.  I like this look!

6 month Bandiversary
on November 14, 2009 6:21 am

Six months ago I started on this journey.  It hasn't been easy.  Some may think so, but it's not.  I've had fills that were too tight and I've thrown up  so many times I can't count.  Once the fills are at the point that I can deal with the tightness, things are great.  Now I seem to have tightness in the morning and then it seems to open more as the day goes on.

I've lost a total of 68 lbs now and look forward to getting down to goal by the next six months or so. I haven't seen my relatives since March '09 and will do so on a family cruise come Dec.  My goal now is to get down to onderland by Dec. 13 (My birthday).  I'm 5.6 lbs from that goal.  I feel great and have more energy.  I actually feel good about myself for once.

Well here's to me, to another 6 months of health and happiness until my 1 year Bandiversay!

And another big wow
on August 2, 2009 5:00 am
As if one big wow at a time isn't enough!  I went to purchase a pair of jeans and just for the heck of it I thought I would try on an 18w. OH MY!  It fit!!  So I purchased the jeans and a 1x top also.  I put them on at home to show my husband and I'm looking in the mirror.  It sure didn't look like my legs.  So much thinner.  When I started this journey I was wearing a 24w that was so tight in the waist.  Now I'm wearing the 18w.  I looked again in the mirror this morning to make sure it was me.  It all seems so strange.  I can't tell you when I was in an 18 last.  Had to be over 15 years or more ago.

My First Wow Moment
on July 27, 2009 3:57 pm

We all know how hard it is to put our socks and shoes on when we were at our heaviest.  I, myself, put them on in my bed with my knee angled just enough to get them on and tied.  Today I had an doctor appointment and the doctor said "OK, get your shoes on and I'll get you that prescription".  My heart was pounding because I knew how difficult it was to put those shoes on.  It was awesome!  Not a problem to get either socks or shoes on and so easy to bend over in the chair to tie them. As I finished tying them, the doctor walked in.  I held my finger to my mouth, going sssshhhhhhh.  I said, "I'm having a WOW moment."  He laughed and congratulated me.

May all you WOW moments be as great as mine.

4 weeks postop
on June 15, 2009 2:32 pm
I hadn't written about my operation.  Just forgot I guess. My WLS was May 13th, 2009 (Wednesday).   It was the simplest operation I've ever gone through.  In and out of the operating room, recovery room and recovery 2 room and then home.  In recovery 2 room I was told I could only have a medicine cup of water for every 1/2 hour. ??? that's strange.  But I made it.  Got home at 8:00PM with operation starting at 1:45.
Little sips of water, protein drinks and a walk here and there. I made it thought the weekend and started back to work on Monday.  I did very well that first day and haven't missed a day of work yet because of the WLS.  1 week later started my purees and now still on soft foods.  I haven't had any problems with food at all. I do like to have a protein drink made up of neutral flavored protein and water and crystal light.  It makes it easier to go down.
Tomorrow I go in for my 1 month anniversary and I'll see what happens then.

Good luck to you all!

Brenda
