Second Week of Testing

Last week I went through another testing of stress test, ultrasound of the heart, pulmonary and physical therapy.  This week, I got notice that there could be a blockage in an artery, however we would not know unless I had a cardiac cathetherization. That is scheduled for March 31.   The funny part is that it could just be the boob getting in the way or casting a shadow.  Let's hope for that.  I have one more visit to the psychologist this week and then a short vacation with my sister from Chicago.  I will tell her this Friday what the heck is going on.

It's overwelming everyday that this testing is going on, but I do give lots of credit to Dr. Heider in making his patients go through this before having a gastric bypass.

1st week of testing

Boy!  I'm worn out   from all the testing that has happened this week.  Saw Dr. Heider and  he gave his approval for Lap Band.  So the calendar started to fill up with appointments.  On Monday went to see Cardiac Dr.  All is well with EKG, however, they want a stress test and ultrasound of heart. Scheduled for next week. Wednesday did endoscopy and I'm sure all is well with that.  More information will be given at April 1 meeting with Dr. Heider.  Thursday met with psychotherapist and a huge bill too! Friday was a meeting with physical therapist.  2 day weekend coming up, thank goodness.

Newbie - Waiting for Lap Band Surgery

I was told by a friend to start here to look for support regarding my lap band surgery.  I've just been approved by my doctor to have the surgery, so all I need is to have my meeting with nutritionist, therapy, and a few tests prior to approval by insurance.  I just don't know what to expect.  I enjoy eating, tasting the food and creating new dishes.  I guess that's part of the reason why I'm in the situation that I'm in.   How am I going to enjoy food again after surgery?  I would like to hear comments from you regarding the pre-surgery and post surgery feelings you had.
