Surgeon Testimonial

Michael Peters Jr. MD
I had my consultation with Dr. Peters. He is very kind and soft spoken. He went over the two types of wls that he performs in detail. He gave me an opportunity to ask questions. He also asked which type I wanted and why and when I explained that I wanted RNY because I was a sweets eater, he said that was a good choice and RNY it would be!! The consultation lasted about 45 minutes and never once did I feel rushed. The office people are great also. Took the time to explain everything and I received a notebook to track my progress and to keep notes in. I would highly recommend Dr. Peters or his associates to anyone near by who is thinking about lws. This is a Center of Excellence facility and you won't be dissappointed!

Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

5 Years!
on December 16, 2012 3:10 pm

I had my surgery on November 26, 2007.

That was 5 years ago.  WOW!! 5 years, hard to believe.  My surgery was easy.  I never ever have had one complication from day one.  I've been vitamin compliant consistently.  I will say I never made it to goal.  Yup, I'm one of those.  Do I feel upset because of this?  Sometimes.  Am thankful that I was able to have surgery?  Always!

Year 1 and 2, lost most of the weight then.  Stayed true to the rules.

Year 3, I started to gain some weight.  My intestines must have figured me out and rerouted my absorption ability.  I will end up working on weight gain for 1 1/2 years.  As always, easy to gain, hard to lose.

Year 4, I had low iron, had an infusion and best of all had plastic surgery!  Iron level had maintained over a year now.

Year 5, has started off with a bang!  I just got my labs back and my entire blood work came back in NORMAL range.  Consistency pays off!  I have 6 pounds to lose to get back from that year 3 weight gain.

While I might not add to my blog too much anymore, I am on OH almost daily.  It helps to keep me grounded by keeping the surgery in the front of my mind.  I never want to forget.  I also weigh myself daily.  It helps with accountability.  Tight pants are not cool!

Happy Holidays!!

3rd Year Surgiversary
on November 26, 2010 5:28 pm
WOW, hard to believe its been 3 years.  A quick 3 years i think.  I feel so much better.  I have gained about 8 pounds, trying to get those back off.  Still trying to talk my husband into plastic surgery...  still.   My fat seems to have settled around my waist,  so to feel comfortable, I wear a larger pant size.
Life is still Good!

My Story

MY STORY IS NOTHING SPECIAL.  I HAVE BEEN FAT ALL OF MY LIFE.  I BELIEVE I HAVE TRIED EVERY DIET AND DIET PILL OUT THERE, BEEN THE THE DIET DOCTOR AND GOT SHOTS AND WEEKLY WEIGH INS.
THERE IS ONE THING I KNOW, I HAVE A GREAT HUSBAND AND 2 WONDERFUL KIDS.  THIS IS WHY I WANT TO DO THE SURGERY, I WANT TO BE AROUND AND SEE THEM GROW UP.  PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
