Surgeon Testimonial

Michael Peters Jr. MD
I had my consultation with Dr. Peters. He is very kind and soft spoken. He went over the two types of wls that he performs in detail. He gave me an opportunity to ask questions. He also asked which type I wanted and why and when I explained that I wanted RNY because I was a sweets eater, he said that was a good choice and RNY it would be!! The consultation lasted about 45 minutes and never once did I feel rushed. The office people are great also. Took the time to explain everything and I received a notebook to track my progress and to keep notes in. I would highly recommend Dr. Peters or his associates to anyone near by who is thinking about lws. This is a Center of Excellence facility and you won't be dissappointed!

Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Extended Stalls
on August 16, 2008 4:31 am
Some one posted this on the RNY forum.
An extended stall is not totally uncommon.  But since it's lasted so long, you  might want to take a critical look at everything in your routine:

* are you eating too many calories?
* are you eating too FEW calories?
* are you eating enough protein?
* What is your balance of calories (protein / carbs / fat)?
* how much sodium are you taking in each day?  excess salt can cause water retention.
* have you changed your workout lately?  Your body gets used to exercise and gets effecient
* are you sweating enough at your workout?  Can you work harder?
* have you added weight training to your routine?
* are you drinking enough water to flush out the fat?
* have you started any bad habits? sweets? simple carbs? soda? drinkng with meals?
* are you taking your vitamins?
* are any of your meds promoting weight gain?  water retention?

If you still can't get the scale to move and you're not losing inches, get in touch with your NUT for some guidance.  They can help jumpstart things based on your own personal needs and history.

Finally!
on August 8, 2008 2:38 am
Ok so finally I lost the 3 pounds I gained.  I hope I make my summer mini goal of 175 by Labor Day.  I will be glad when summer is over, my sinuses have been out of control.
Wish me luck for staying on track now!!!

Drink till you can drink no more!
on August 2, 2008 5:08 am
For some reason I got off my drinking a lot of water habit and I've gained 3 pounds!  I'm having trouble getting back into the swing of things.  Not good!  I know its only water weight, my legs tingle and I have sock lines so i'm not worried that's real weight gain.  I just don't like how the scale looks!

Same Ole Same Ole
on July 27, 2008 4:54 am
Nothing much happening these days.  Weight is sooo slow to come off.  I read profiles of ladies that loose all their extra weight by 8-9-10 months.  Why couldn't I be that person.  Oh well enough whinning.  I just need to keep telling myself: 8 months out and down 110 pounds.
Life goes on.........

My Story

MY STORY IS NOTHING SPECIAL.  I HAVE BEEN FAT ALL OF MY LIFE.  I BELIEVE I HAVE TRIED EVERY DIET AND DIET PILL OUT THERE, BEEN THE THE DIET DOCTOR AND GOT SHOTS AND WEEKLY WEIGH INS.
THERE IS ONE THING I KNOW, I HAVE A GREAT HUSBAND AND 2 WONDERFUL KIDS.  THIS IS WHY I WANT TO DO THE SURGERY, I WANT TO BE AROUND AND SEE THEM GROW UP.  PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
