Surgeon Testimonial

Stephen B. Archer, M.D.
What can I say about Stephen Archer, MD and Advanced Specialty Care??? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them all!
What a wonderful, compassionate group! Everyone from Dr. Archer (the dude), to Kathryn Wilson (Bariatric Coordinator and wiz at everything), to LuAnn Lehnertz(Registered Dietitian/Nurtritionist - who makes it all so easy) and Karen Campbell (Psychologist - love her - she's helping me deal with my carb addiction, amoung other things)!! Add to that the fact that they are a Center of Excellence!! Would I trust my body and life with anything less?? These people have EVERYTHING worked out. You follow what they tell you, and you cannot help but succeed. All this, and I haven't had my RNY yet (scheduled for 1/11/11). If anyone has any questions about Dr. Archer or his staff, please contact me!!

My Story

I was thin when I was in school, but the way I stayed that way was very unhealthy.  I'd eat 1 orange for lunch, use diet pills, etc in order to stay thin.  I was also always in sports, until after my school days.  My jobs I've had, have always been sitting at a desk, so my lifestyle went from being very active, to sedentary.  In my head, I still think of myself as being thin, even though I am far from it.  When I see myself in the mirror or in a picture, I'm like "who the heck is that person?".  It's very depressing to see how I've let myself go.

I'm VERY excited to being able to have RNY surgery.  It's a gift that I'm thankful for.  It's scheduled for 1/11/11 -- must be a good luck day, right??  Not only do I want to be my correct weight, I'm wanting to feel better again.  I have chronic back pain, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, GERD, neuopathy and chronic fatigue syndrome.  All of these diseases came on as my weight and age increased.  I want to learn to eat healthier, and to teach my family the correct way to eat, so hopefully, they will develop a healthy attitude towards food too.

One of my goals I WILL REACH, is to take a family vacation to Disneyland/CA Adventure.  I want to be able to have the energy to spend the day walking around the parks, riding the rides, laughing and enjoying a fabulous time with my family.  I want my family to be yelling at me to wait up for them, as I'm running to get in line for the next ride!!  I can't wait!!

Good wishes to all on your journey to becoming a healthier, lighter, energetic YOU!!
