Michelle Toder, M.D.
My first impression of Dr.Toder was that she was real. Wasn't going to tell me what I needed to hear but that facts. She didn't have that holierthan though attitude most surgeons have (I'm a nurse I deal with those kinds all the time). It was like sitting down and having a conversation with any regular person.rnShe was very informative regarding the procedure and the reasons I might be able to have Lap and the reasons I might end up with open. She shots straight from the hip no cottelingbut that works for me.rnAs far as what's better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both. my answer is give me somebody who knows what there doing inside of me anyday then if he/she sits on the bed and pats me on the hand to tell me everything is going to be just fine.

9/6/2006 Well after hovering this site for approx. the past month, I figured I'd give some more information regarding myself. I am 31 yrs old, married to my high school sweetheart for the past 11 yrs. Have two wonderful daughters, Trista whom is technically my step-daughter but I have been with her since she was 9 months old...she is now 15 (my how time does fly) also my daughter Brooke who is 7 yrs old. I have been overweight since I can remember with one failed diet after another. But I am currently at my highest weight ever and for the very first time beginning to hate myself feeling hopless and helpless. This is until I began researching WLS. Finding this website was a godsend. I am very grateful to all the brave individuals out there so willing to share their struggles with OBESITY and what a struggle it is. I have so many hopes and dreams set to the success of this surgery. I have 1 more appointment with my PCP til I can meet with my surgeon. Keeping my fingers crossed that all will go as planned.
11/15/06 Well I was approved. SURPRISE SURPRISE!!Also have a date 12/5/06. It's happening a little faster than I had anticipated. But I know I shouldn't complain. It's just I'm feeling a little over whelmed right now. My best friend also got her date she's going 12/7/06. Were going to be losers together. I can't wait.
12/24/06 Seeing as though it has almost been 3 weeks since surgery I probally should update. Well my surgery went off without a hitch well there was that gas problem post op day 2 but that doesn't count. I went for my 2 week check up on 12/22 and the doc said she wished she could clone me because every thing has gone so perfect. I have lost 26 pounds my nut says that I am actually at where I should be for 6 weeks post-op she thinks it is because I have been going to the gym.I'll take it. Iactually am able to see some weight loss at my first dunlap ( yes I have two) when I measured I have lost 5 inches just from there amazing. Best christmas present I could possibly ever receive. Can I also state how great it is to eat food with texture I thought the 2 1/2 weeks of full liquids might kill me. I did forget to mention however that I am very lactose intolerant now. That has taken some getting used to.
