December 28, 2005 Was on the long treck to the doctor office when I got a call on my cell that he had emergency surgery and they had to cancel my appointment. They rescheduled it for January 3rd.

Met my cardio/thorasic surgeon on December 20, 2005 2:29 pm
December 20, 2005 Met with Dr. McGee who is going to do my greenfield filter surgery the day before my RNY. He is a cardio/thorasic surgeon and is so sweet. He impressed me because as I was about to leave he hug me - and I thought that was just so sweet he could see how scared I was and reassured me. I left there more sure than when I went in.

Waiting for Surgery Date! on December 8, 2005 2:26 pm

Talked with Teresa in Dr. Hwang's office today. Was told that my surgery would be scheduled for January 17th, 2006 on Tuesday. I would have to be admitted the day before on Monday, January 16th when I would have a greenfield filter put in. (to help prevent anymore blood clots from traveling to my lungs)
So, I would have to drink the mag. nitrate at about 2pm while in the hospital and be on clear liquids.
This might be hard - hospitals are so tiring and boring and I won't be able to keep myself busy!!
Now, I must wait 6 week s until my surgery!! What a long wait... I knew it would be. I asked them back in early November if it would take 2 or 3 months and they told me no.. yeah, o.k. whatever. Here it is....
it will be 2 1/2months from my consulation. Just like I saw it with other people.. it's what I've learned from experience speaking with others on the OH board. I'm probably lucky though 2 1/2 months isn't a long wait.
It's now within my grasp. It's been since 2003 since my cardiologist first suggested I have gastric bypass and now here it is the date is closing in.
I go back for another consult on December 28th. Hopefully, things will stay on track.

Got a call from Staci at Dr. Hwang's office informing me that my appointment for tommorrow needs to be changed as I won't be having surgery until at least the 2nd week of January. Was told they would call me the next day with more information.
I'm so dissappointed as I have to wait another whole month or longer!!!
