I 'll begin by telling you a little about myself. I have been married for 20 years and have 3 wonderful teenagers, ages 15, 17, and 19. I have been struggling with weight gain since the birth of my children.  Nothing worked-- i tried the fad diets, weight-watchers, phen-Fen, diet pills, exercise, and near starvation periods with no results. If anything,  I just seemed to gain more weight. Over the years,  I have become very disillusioned and very discouraged. It doesn't help that my husband is in wonderful shape and looks like a model! (I got to the point I began thinking of him as "Jack Sprat" and I was "the wife") Talk about self-esteem issues!  In the past 5 years , i have developed hypertension, low back problems, asthma, shortness of breath  with little exertion, and right hip arthritis. I started researching WLS as an option and chose the gastric sleeve for its many benefits and fewer risks. My surgery is scheduled in December.
