My Story

I was morbidly obese for more years than I care to admit. I lost tens of pounds several times but always gained it back and more. I did finally manage to lose 130+ pounds on my own (2008-2009), and I got down to 106 pounds. Haha, that lasted for about 1 day! I am doing better keeping it off, though, than I ever thought I could, anyway. I've hit mid-140s twice, but haven't gone higher and have managed to get it back down (to 110s after the first "relapse" and an currently at 131, 12 pounds down from my second "relapse"). I could have had gastric for free with my insurance, no co-pay or anything... Now of course they won't give it to me. I never understood that maintaining is so much harder than dieting. I respect all of you who had the good sense to know that and have the WLS. I often struggle and wish I had.

So anyway, I hope it's okay that I'm here. I'm finally confident enough in my ability to not gain-it-all-back that I feel I'm ready for PS, and I'm glad to have found a forum with ppl who understand how frustrating all this #@^&! extra skin is.
