This is a test

Saturday I was slicing fennel and apples to make a salad because I was having some friends over for dinner. Since I had to make a lot I was using my mandoline slicer and since I found it hard to use the hand guard thingy that holds the veggies for you, I wasn't using it. Of course I slipped and cut off a large piece of my right middle finger. Boy, finger wounds sure bleed a lot. I consulted a doctor friend and he said there was nothing that could really be done, I'll just have to keep it bandaged and see how much grows back. So now I'm typing with one less finger and learning to do a lot of things left handed! Yes, I will use the finger guard next time, pinky swear. 
At least the finger bit didn't end up in the salad!
