Hello, all.  After struggling with weight my whole life, I reached my all time recorded weight of 263 pounds in March of 2007.  I suspect my weight topped 270 at some point.  I was banded May 25 of 2007, and have lost slowly and steadily since then.  I feel and look so much better and look forward to continuing my loss and improving my health. I lost a sister to RNY but only after she lived 20 years with devastating complications, so technically her death isn't attributed to WLS. I waited to have my surgery until my daughter was grown and I knew that she would be OK, just in case.  My surgeon was carefully chosen and is banded himself, and has a very casual approach to weight loss with the band.  He is the best around as a surgeon, so I felt very comfortable that I would be fine, and so far, not a single problem.

Feeling Better
on June 23, 2008 7:56 am
Well, it is nearly the end of month 13 and I feel like I finally have found my sweet spot.  So this is what everyone has been talking about.  I have lost 6 pounds in the past month, am feeling full after small meals, but am not having problems with food unless I stray too far from my safety zone.  I love feeling full, and not thinking about food 24/7 as in the past.  And I am shopping-carefully-in the regular size departments. Onederland, here I come.

First Bandiversary
on May 25, 2008 7:38 am
I have been looking forward to this day for so long, but now that it is here I am disappointed in myself.  I feel like I haven't done nearly as well as I should have, and my anniversary pictures don't look that much different than my day-of-surgery pictures.  My weight is 215, and I feel like I will never make it to onederland.  I am redidicating myself to nutrition and exercise, so let's see what happens in this next year.
