Surgeon Testimonial

Carl Lowe, Jr, M.D.
Dr. Lowe is very comfortable to talk to and has a GREAT personality. He's not afraid to crack a joke back at you! He's very informative and is concerned you know all the risk, beneifits and consequences. Dr. Lowe has a strong, secure handshake and a genuine smile. I knew from the handshake I had finally found the right surgeon for me.

Thursday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Waiting SUCKS!
on May 21, 2007 8:04 pm
I've had enough of the hurry up and wait. I need a DATE! Something "real" to tell when people ask. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing '2 weeks and we should know something'.  I've been 2 week-ed to death! I'm ready to get things over with and start new! It's really starting to wear me down. I'm having second thought due to dreams... being bitchy due to dealing with waiting and not knowing... And now I'm whiny... suck it up and deal.

My Story

My story would be long and boring. I've been big since I was 5 years old. I have always enjoyed being the 'big girl'... until the last 3 years. My weight has topped out at 334 and I can't function. I have PCOS and it's winning the war of the weight. I've gained the weight due to the meds. I want my 220 pound body back! I'm a tall girl and overall in good health. I love the way I look around 200 - 220 and I FEEL better there. My son NEEDS me to be there. My Bipolar needs me to be there. I researched bariatric surgeries for almost two years before broaching it with my PCP. I've been under her care for weight loss since November 2005. I'm ready... just waiting on a date.
